  • Packers' Jace Sternberger: Remains with Packers for now

Sternberger made the Packers' roster but will open the season on the reserve/suspended list.

With Sternberger having an inconsistent training camp and facing a two-game suspension for violating the league's substance abuse policy, the Packers could have opted to release him on cut-down day. However, with the team able to place him on the suspended list without occupying a roster spot, they decided to keep him around for the time being. The Packers will have another decision to make when Sternberger is eligible to return in Week 3, and there is still a chance he could be sent packing at that point.

  • Miller Forristall: Doesn't survive cutdown day

Forristall was waived by the Titans on Tuesday, Jim Wyatt of the team's official site reports.

Forristall produced 23 receptions for 253 yards during his final season at Alabama in 2020. The 6-foot-5, 244-pound tight end will likely continue his development on the practice squad.

  • Packers' Dominique Dafney: Makes cut in Green Bay

Dafney secured a spot on the Packers' roster Tuesday.

Dafney went into training camp with a good chance to start a season on an NFL roster for the first time in his career, and with him not among the list of cuts made Tuesday, he is set to do just that. While Dafney will occupy a place on the Packers' roster, it's unlikely he will play more than a bit role early on.

  • Jared Pinkney TE | CHI

    Jared Pinkney: Sent packing

Pinkney was waived by the Titans on Tuesday, Jim Wyatt of the team's official site reports.

Pinkney spent the 2020 season on the Falcons' practice squad. The Vanderbilt product could take on a similar role with the Titans this season.

  • Cam Sutton TE | CAR

    Cam Sutton: Hits waivers

Sutton was waived by the Seahawks on Tuesday, John Boyle of the team's official site reports.

Sutton failed to carve out a role at tight end, as Gerald Everett, Will Dissly and Colby Parkinson (foot) made the initial 53-man roster. Parkinson will be less than 100 percent for the season opener, so Sutton could add valuable depth on the practice squad.

  • Saints' Juwan Johnson: Earns roster spot

Johnson has made the regular-season roster at tight end, Mike Triplett of ESPN reports.

Johnson figures to have some sort of role as a pass-catching tight end throughout the year. However, with top receiver Michael Thomas (ankle) set to miss the first six weeks of the season and both Adam Trautman (ankle) and Nick Vannett (knee) bouncing back from minor injuries, Johnson could have a chance to show what he can do in an expanded role as soon as Week 1.

  • Nick Eubanks TE | IND

    Nick Eubanks: Sent to waivers

The Cowboys waived Eubanks on Tuesday, Rob Phillips of DallasCowboys.com reports.

Eubanks was signed by the Cowboys as an undrafted free agent this offseason. Dallas may elect to bring him back on its practice squad if he clears waivers.

  • Tyler Davis TE | NE

Jaguars' Tyler Davis: Waived by Jacksonville

The Jaguars waived Davis on Tuesday.

Davis appeared in eight games as a rookie, dropping one of his two targets. He will likely clear waivers and end up on the Jaguars' practice squad this season.

  • Alize Mack TE | TEN

    Alize Mack: Waived by Detroit

Mack was waived by the Lions on Tuesday, Kyle Meinke of MLive.com reports.

The 6-foot-5 tight end is an intriguing prospect as a pass-catcher, but the Lions decided to cut both him and Brock Wright as just two tight ends remain on Detroit's final roster. Still just 24 years old, it's possible Mack could get another chance elsewhere.

  • Brock Wright TE | DET

    Brock Wright: Waived by Lions

Wright was waived by the Lions on Tuesday, Kyle Meinke of MLive.com reports.

Detroit opted to keep only two tight ends on the roster, but it seems likely that the team will find depth through waivers. Meanwhile, Wright could be a candidate for the practice squad.
