Tremble caught three of four targets for 19 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 21-18 preseason loss to the Colts.

Tremble, Carolina's third-round pick, hauled in a seven-yard pass from P.J. Walker to extend the Panthers' lead in the second quarter. With both projected starter Dan Arnold and veteran Ian Thomas not suiting up, Tremble took advantage of his first opportunity to take the field, giving him decent momentum in his quest to edge Thomas for snaps behind Arnold as a rookie.

Henry (shoulder) made the trip to Philadelphia for joint practices with the Eagles this week, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.

A report last Monday suggested Henry would miss multiple weeks, but he was spotted at Sunday's practice and apparently now has a chance to participate in joint sessions with the Eagles. Meanwhile, fellow Patriots tight end Jonnu Smith figures to miss at least a day or two after spraining his ankle Sunday.

Hudson secured four of seven targets for 48 yards in the Buccaneers' 19-14 preseason loss to the Bengals on Saturday night.

The athletic tight end paced the team in receptions, receiving yards and targets on the night, turning in an impressive performance that followed some strong work in training camp practices to date. Hudson is fighting to win the No. 4 tight end job, and he took advantage of the fact that Cameron Brate was held out of action Saturday night to make a solid case for himself.

Everett didn't suit up for Saturday's preseason loss at Las Vegas, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.

Coach Pete Carroll held out the team's presumed top four tight ends -- also, Will Dissly, Colby Parkinson (foot) and Tyler Mabry -- in this contest, so there's not much to gather from the situation. Still, Everett was brought in on a one-year $6 million contract to help account for the loss of the retired Greg Olsen. Everett didn't really impress during for seasons with the Rams, topping out at 41 catches, 417 yards and three TDs in any of those campaigns. Expect Everett and Dissly to vie for the No. 1 and 2 spots on the depth chart.

Wells was waived by the Bengals on Sunday, Adam Caplan of SiriusXM NFL Radio reports.

Wells signed with the Bengals as an undrafted free agent in mid-May but didn't appear in Saturday's preseason matchup against the Bengals. Whether he's able to land another contract ahead of the 2021 campaign remains to be seen.

There are fears that Carlson suffered a season-ending knee injury in Saturday's preseason opener against Jacksonville, Jake Trotter of ESPN.com reports.

The severity of Carlson's knee injury hasn't been confirmed yet, but it sounds like he'll be facing a lengthy absence. This is an unfortunate turn of events for the tight end, who had been enjoying a strong camp and was on track to secure a spot on the Browns' 53-man roster.

Sweeney didn't practice Sunday due to an apparent foot injury, Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic reports.

Sweeney played 18 offensive snaps in Friday's preseason opener against the Lions and hauled in two of his three targets for 34 yards. However, he apparently suffered an injury and was seen in a walking boot Sunday. The Bills haven't yet announced when Sweeney will be able to return.

Wells was let go by the Patriots on Sunday, Jim McBride of The Boston Globe reports.

Wells failed to stick with the team after the first preseason game. The tight end spent some time on New England's practice squad last season but is unlikely to earn such a role this year.

Arnold did not suit up for the Panthers' first preseason tilt against the Colts on Sunday, ESPN's David Newton reports.

Arnold has made some strong impressions during training camp, so much so that he has put himself in a position to start for the Panthers this season. Starters usually get the first week of preseason off, which hints at the team's plans for the fifth-year pro. We should get a first-hand look at the chemistry developing between Sam Darnold and Arnold as the preseason progresses.

Smith was diagnosed with a low left ankle sprain following Sunday's practice, Mike Reiss of ESPN.com reports.

During a 1-on-1 drill, Smith got tangled up with a defensive back, had an awkward landing and limped to the sideline. After an examination of his left foot, he could miss some practice in the short term, but the injury isn't deemed to be a serious one. Elsewhere in the tight end room, Hunter Henry returned to practice Sunday after missing the past week due to a shoulder issue.
