  • Evan Engram TE | DEN

Broncos' Evan Engram: Misses practice with back issue

Engram missed practice Wednesday due to a back injury.

Engram managed a calf issue prior to Week 2 action, but he approached this past Sunday's 29-28 loss to the Colts without an injury designation before recording 25 of a possible 58 snaps on offense. Now that he's dealing with a new injury concern, the tight end's status will now need to be monitored as this weekend's contest against the Chargers approaches. If Engram ends up limited or out, added Week 3 opportunities would be available for Adam Trautman, as well as Nate Adkins and Lucas Krull to a lesser degree.

  • Will Dissly TE | LAC

Chargers' Will Dissly: Misses practice with knee injury

    Dissly (knee) didn't practice Wednesday.

He played 40 percent of snaps on offense in Monday's 20-9 win over the Raiders, catching his lone target for a gain of seven yards. Tyler Conklin would be in line for more snaps and routes if Dissly were to miss Sunday's matchup with the Broncos.

  • Evan Engram TE | DEN

Broncos' Evan Engram: Misses practice Wednesday

Broncos head coach Sean Payton said Wednesday that Engram (undisclosed) did not practice, Zac Stevens of TheDNVR.com reports.

Payton declined to comment on the nature of Engram's injury. The veteran tight end was forced out early during Denver's win over the Titans in Week 1 due to a calf injury, but he was able to gain full clearance in time to return Week 2 against the Colts. Engram has, however, failed to play 50 percent in either of the Broncos' two games so far this season, and he's totaled just two catches for 33 yards on four targets thus far. Even if Engram manages to gain full clearance in time for Sunday's matchup against the Chargers, fantasy managers may want to search elsewhere for options at the tight end position.

  • 49ers' Brayden Willis: Bumps to active roster

The 49ers signed Willis to the active roster from the practice squad Wednesday.

Willis takes the roster spot of Ben Bartch, whom San Francisco placed on IR on Wednesday. With George Kittle (hamstring) also on IR until at least Week 6, Willis is positioned to contribute in a reserve role at tight end versus the Cardinals on Sunday and beyond.

  • Tyler Warren TE | IND

Colts' Tyler Warren: Doesn't practice Wednesday

    Warren (toe) didn't practice Wednesday.

Warren logged a 93 percent snap share in Sunday's 29-28 win over the Broncos, but the tight end's absence from Wednesday's practice makes his status worth monitoring as this weekend's game against the Titans approaches. Through his first two regular-season games, the 2025 first rounder has combined for 11 catches (on 16 targets) for 155 yards.

  • Dallas Goedert TE | PHI

Eagles' Dallas Goedert: Returning to practice

Goedert (knee) returned to practice Wednesday, Jeff McLane of The Philadelphia Inquirer reports.

Goedert missed Sunday's win over the Chiefs, 10 days after suffering a knee sprain in the Eagles' regular-season opener. Now nearly two weeks removed from the injury, Goedert apparently is making a bid to play this Sunday against the Rams

  • Darren Waller TE | MIA

Dolphins' Darren Waller: Ruled out for TNF

Waller (hip) is officially ruled out for Thursday's game against the Bills, Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN.com reports.

Waller managed to string together a trio of limited practice sessions, but he nonetheless won't be cleared to retake the field on a short week leading up to Thursday's contest. The veteran tight end figures to have a more realistic chance to make his regular-season debut Week 4 against the Jets in a Monday Night Football matchup on Sept. 29. Julian Hill and Tanner Conner will continue to split reps at the TE position for Miami on Thursday.

  • Brenden Bates TE | CLE

Texans' Brenden Bates: Headed to Houston

Bates signed with the Texans on Wednesday.

After terminating his practice squad contract with the Browns on Tuesday, the 25-year-old from Kentucky has found a new home in Houston. Bates appeared in seven games with the Browns and Jets in 2024, but failed to catch his lone target while playing 70 total snaps (41 offensive and 29 on special teams). With Cade Stover (foot), Brevin Jordan (knee) and Irv Smith (ankle) all on injured reserve, Bates is expected to play a depth role in the Texans' tight end corps.

  • Dawson Knox TE | BUF

Bills' Dawson Knox: Two grabs in Week 2

Knox caught two of five targets for 19 yards in Sunday's 30-10 win over the Jets.

Knox's five targets Sunday were second only to fellow tight end Dalton Kincaid, who saw six targets from quarterback Josh Allen. The 28-year-old Knox did play more offensive snaps, however, finishing with 41 snaps while Kincaid played 36 snaps. Despite the increased target share, Knox should not be considered for fantasy purposes as long as Kincaid is healthy. The Bills are set to host the Dolphins in Week 3.

  • Elijah Higgins TE | ARI

Cardinals' Elijah Higgins: Records two catches in win

Higgins caught two of three targets for 45 yards in Sunday's 27-22 win over the Panthers.

Higgins played 22 of the Cardinals' 55 offensive snaps Sunday, behind starter Trey McBride (50) and ahead of Travis Vokolek (18). Barring an injury to McBride, the 24-year-old tight end remains far off the fantasy radar due to his limited playing time. The Cardinals are set to visit the 49ers in Week 3.
