  • Tip Reiman TE | ARI

Cardinals' Tip Reiman: Expected back Monday

Head coach Jonathan Gannon said Thursday that Reiman (undisclosed) will be held out of practice for the rest of the week and return Monday, Bo Brack of GoPHNX.com reports.

It's unclear why Reiman is away from the team, but he isn't expected to be out of action for an extended period of time. The rookie third-round pick out of Illinois is currently listed as the third tight end on the Cardinals' depth chart behind Trey McBride and Elijah Higgins.

  • Feleipe Franks TE | CAR

Feleipe Franks: Added to Panthers' taxi squad

Carolina signed Franks to the practice squad Thursday, Joe Person of The Athletic reports.

Franks spent all of 2023 on the Falcons' injured reserve due to an undisclosed injury designation. He signed with the Panthers in late July to compete for a depth tight-end spot on the 53-man roster, but he ultimately came up short after finishing the preseason with three catches (on four targets) for 12 yards. Both Tommy Tremble (hamstring) and Ian Thomas (calf) are dealing with injuries ahead of Week 1, and if either of them cannot suit up, Franks is a prime candidate to get elevated to the active roster.

  • Blake Whiteheart: Headed to Cleveland

Whiteheart signed a contract with the Browns' practice squad Thursday, Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer reports.

Whiteheart spent training camp with the Cardinals, but he was waived by the team Tuesday. He'll now have an opportunity in Cleveland, which is currently only carrying two tight ends on its active roster roster.

  • Miller Forristall: Back with Rams

Forristall signed with the Rams' practice squad Wednesday, Stu Jackson of the team's official site reports.

The 26-year-old tight end out of Alabama spent most of his 2023 campaign with the Rams' practice squad, and he'll now remain in Los Angeles for 2024. Forristall last appeared in a regular-season game with the Browns in 2022, failing to haul in his lone target while playing 59 total snaps across four contests.

  • Thomas Yassmin TE | LAC

Thomas Yassmin: Will have chance to develop

Yassmin signed with the Broncos' practice squad Wednesday, Aric DiLalla of the team's official site reports.

Yassmin joined Denver as an undrafted free agent out of Utah in the spring. The 24-year-old didn't play during the preseason and saw limited action while in college as well, but by securing a spot on the practice squad, he appears to have shown some promise.

  • Brock Bowers TE | LV

Raiders' Brock Bowers: Trending toward Week 1 availability

Coach Antonio Pierce noted Thursday that he feels very good about Bowers (foot) being on the field for the Raiders' season opener, Vincent Bonsignore of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.

Per Bonsignore, the Raiders are simply exercising prudence with the rookie tight end, who has been managing foot soreness of late. Added context regarding Bowers' status should arrive no later than next week's initial practice/injury report, but at this stage it appears as though Bowers will be available for the team's Week 1 contest against the Chargers on Sunday, Sept. 8.

  • Dallas Goedert TE | PHI

Eagles' Dallas Goedert: Still not practicing

Goedert (oblique) is not practicing Thursday, Brooks Kubena of The Athletic reports.

Goedert has missed just over a week of practices with an oblique injury, leaving him just eight days to get healthy ahead of Philadelphia's regular-season opener against the Packers in Sao Paulo, Brazil on Sept. 6. The Eagles are likely taking a cautious approach to the starting tight end's health, given his integral role on offense, but his status will be worth closely monitoring when the team's first official practice reports of the regular season are released next week. Grant Calcaterra is the only other health tight end on the team's 53-man roster Thursday, but more additions are likely on the way.

  • Cam Grandy TE | CIN

    Cam Grandy: Gets another opportunity

Grandy signed with the Bengals' practice squad Wednesday.

Grandy was waived Tuesday but will now have the opportunity to continue developing in Cincinnati. The Illinois State product went undrafted in 2024 but showed skills as a pass catcher, recording 63 catches for 612 yards and three touchdowns in his final season there.

  • Panthers' Jordan Matthews: Lands on active roster

Matthews signed with the Panthers' 53-man roster Wednesday, Darin Gantt of the team's official site reports.

Matthews was originally waived by the team Tuesday, then signed to their practice squad Wednesday. He now finds himself on the active roster with Tommy Tremble (hamstring) and Ian Thomas (calf) both questionable for Week 1 against the Saints.

  • Seahawks' Jack Westover: Reverts to injured reserve

Westover (undisclosed) reverted to Seattle's injured reserve Wednesday.

Westover will return to the team after having been waived with an injury designation Tuesday. The 25-year-old will be forced to miss the entirety of the season unless he reaches an injury settlement.
