  • Lucas Krull TE | DEN

Broncos' Lucas Krull: Not suiting up in opener

Krull (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's Week 1 matchup against the Seahawks.

The reserve tight end is a clear No. 3 option behind Adam Trautman and Greg Dulcich, rendering his status as a healthy scratch in Week 1 unsurprising.

  • Panthers' Messiah Swinson: Won't suit up Sunday

Swinson (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game at New Orleans, Darin Gantt of the Panthers' official site reports.

Swinson was just signed off the Packers' practice squad less than a week ago, so it's not surprising that he won't be playing in Week 1 for Carolina. Rookie Ja'Tavion Sanders figures to lead the Panthers in snaps at tight end Sunday with Tommy Tremble (hamstring/back) also out.

  • Tip Reiman TE | ARI

Cardinals' Tip Reiman: Good to go for Week 1

Reiman (ankle) is active for Sunday's game against the Bills, Darren Urban of the Cardinals' official site reports.

Reiman was tagged as questionable for Sunday's game after logging three consecutive limited practice sessions this week, but he is good to go for the regular-season opener. The rookie third-round pick will serve in a depth capacity at tight end behind Trey McBride and Elijah Higgins.

  • Will Mallory TE | IND

Colts' Will Mallory: Inactive against Houston

Mallory (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against Houston.

With Mallory inactive and Jelani Woods out for the season with a toe injury, Indy's tight-end group has been narrowed to Kylen Granson, Mo Alie-Cox and Drew Ogletree. Mallory could still enter the mix at some point this season.

  • E.J. Jenkins TE | PHI

E.J. Jenkins: Reverts to practice squad

Jenkins reverted to the Eagles' practice squad Saturday, per the NFL's transaction log.

Jenkins was elevated from the practice squad for Friday's game against the Packers to provide depth at tight end behind Dallas Goedert and Grant Calcaterra. Jenkins ended up playing 10 snaps (three on offense, seven on special teams), but did not accrue a catch. He can be brought up by the Eagles from the practice squad two more times this season before he would have to be signed to the active roster.

  • Eric Tomlinson TE | LAC

Chargers' Eric Tomlinson: Signed to Bolts' active roster

The Chargers signed Tomlinson from the practice squad to the active roster Saturday.

The move corresponds with DJ Chark (hip) being placed on injured reserve. Tomlinson caught on with the Chargers' practice squad after failing to make the Colts' 53-man roster at the conclusion of training camp. The 11-year veteran will serve as the fourth tight end on the Chargers' depth chart behind Will Dissly, Hayden Hurst and Stone Smartt.

  • Feleipe Franks TE | CAR

Panthers' Feleipe Franks: Signed to active roster

The Panthers signed Franks to the active roster Saturday, David Newton of ESPN.com reports.

Franks was added to Carolina's practice squad after making the initial 53-man roster at the conclusion of training camp. With Ian Thomas (calf) on the IR and Tommy Tremble (hamstring) ruled out for Week 1, Franks was added to the active roster to provide the Panthers additional depth at tight end behind Ja'Tavion Sanders, Jordan Matthews and Messiah Swinson.

  • Ian Thomas TE | LV

Panthers' Ian Thomas: Lands on IR

Thomas (calf) was placed on injured reserve Saturday.

Both Thomas and expected backup Tommy Tremble (hamstring/back) were both ruled out Friday, which means fourth-round rookie Ja'Tavion Sanders will make his first career start Sunday against the Saints. Thomas wasn't particularly useful from a fantasy perspective last year, but he was a reliable blocker and had played at least 600 snaps from 2020-22. The seven-year veteran won't be eligible to return until early October.

  • Packers' Luke Musgrave: Operates as No. 2 option

Musgrave was targeted twice and did not catch a pass in Friday's 34-29 loss to the Eagles.

Musgrave started Friday's contest, but fellow tight end Tucker Kraft did as well, and the latter received 64 snaps to Musgrave's 17. That disparity seemingly puts Musgrave in the backup spot heading into Week 2, so those counting on him in their fantasy leagues should not be shy about considering other options.

  • Dallas Goedert TE | PHI

Eagles' Dallas Goedert: Grabs four balls in win

Goedert had four receptions (on five targets) for 31 yards in Friday's 34-29 win over the Packers.

Goedert was dealing with an oblique injury late in the preseason schedule, but he did not appear on the Eagles' injury report leading up to Friday's tilt in Brazil. The athletic tight end did not appear limited on the field, catching 80 percent of his opportunities. Fantasy managers will be hoping for more production from Goedert in Philadelphia's next matchup against Atlanta on Monday, Sept. 16.
