Jelani Woods TE | NYJ
Colts' Jelani Woods: Set to miss time
Coach Shane Steichen noted Tuesday that Woods (toe) will miss some time, Stephen Holder of ESPN.com reports. "I don't have a timetable on it," Steichen said with regard to how long the tight end will be sidelined with a toe injury that will require surgery, per Joel A. Erickson of The Indianapolis Star.
According to Holder, however, it appears as though Woods' absence is on track to extend into the regular season and thus will have an impact on the Colts' roster decisions ahead of cut downs. While Woods is unavailable, Kylen Granson, Mo Alie-Cox, Drew Ogletree and Will Mallory remain available to handle the team's TE duties.

Juwan Johnson TE | NO
Saints' Juwan Johnson: Brought off PUP list
The Saints activated Johnson (foot) from the active/PUP list Tuesday, Matthew Paras of The New Orleans Times-Picayune reports.
Johnson has passed his physical and is expected to practice in some capacity Tuesday, per Nick Underhill of NewOrleans.Football. The veteran tight end has missed all of training camp to this point while recovering from mid-June foot surgery. Johnson likely isn't a candidate to get healthy in time for Sunday's preseason finale against the Titans, but he now has just under three weeks left to resume practicing in full ahead of New Orleans' regular-season opener against the Panthers on Sunday, Sept 8.
-
Payne Durham TE | TB
Buccaneers' Payne Durham: Back in action
Durham (knee) is practicing Tuesday, Scott Smith of the Buccaneers' official site reports.
Durham had been sidelined since suffering the injury last Wednesday during a joint practice with the Jaguars. His quick recovery should allow him to keep a firm grip on the team's No. 2 tight-end spot behind expected starter Cade Otton.
-
David Njoku TE | LAC
Browns' David Njoku: Still not practicing
Njoku (undisclosed) is not practicing Tuesday, Scott Petrak of the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram reports.
Njoku hasn't returned to practice since exiting last Thursday's joint session with the Vikings early due to what was called soreness. Top wide receiver Amari Cooper (undisclosed) is also not available Tuesday, despite early indications that he was in line to return. Saturday's road exhibition matchup against the Seahawks will be Njoku's final chance to log preseason reps prior to Cleveland's regular-season opener against the Cowboys.
-
E.J. Jenkins TE | PHI
Eagles' E.J. Jenkins: Practicing once again
Jenkins (knee) returned to practice Tuesday, Andrew DiCecco reports.
Jenkins had been out of action since Saturday, but his return to the field today is good news for the Georgia Tech product and his attempts to make the final 53-man roster. However, he's likely facing an uphill battle to do so, with Dallas Goedert, Grant Calcaterra and C.J. Uzomah likely to be kept ahead of him at tight end.
-
Sam LaPorta TE | DET
Lions' Sam LaPorta: Should resume practicing soon
Coach Dan Campbell said Tuesday that LaPorta (hamstring) could resume practicing as soon as Sunday, Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press reports.
Campbell mentioned the day after Detroit's preseason finale as a possible return date for a bunch of injured players, including LaPorta and RB Jahmyr Gibbs (hamstring). While it's not ideal to have two stars dealing with summer hamstring injuries, there's been no indication that either playmaker is expected to remain out for long. LaPorta was first reported to be dealing with an injury Aug. 5.

Greg Dulcich TE | MIA
Broncos' Greg Dulcich: Two catches in win
Dulcich reeled in both of his targets for 27 yards in Sunday's 27-2 preseason win over the Packers.
Dulcich played just nine offensive snaps in the contest, making the most of his limited opportunities and finishing with the most receiving yards of any Denver tight end. The 24-year-old remains the favorite to lead the Broncos' tight-end corps as a pass catcher, but fellow tight end Adam Trautman could lead the team in playing time due to his skills as a blocker. Dulcich will look to stay healthy this season and take a step forward as a contributor in head coach Sean Payton's offense in 2024.
-
Pharaoh Brown TE | IND
Seahawks' Pharaoh Brown: Should be ready for regular season
Brown (foot) is expected to be ready for the start of the regular season, Michael-Shawn Dugar of The Athletic reports.
Brown received a second opinion on the foot injury he suffered last week and is expected to be ready for the start of the regular season. If the 30-year-old however ends up taking more time to recover, Tyler Mabry and Brady Russell could be in line for expanded roles.
-
Neal Johnson TE | NYJ
Neal Johnson: Let go by Jets
The Jets waived Johnson on Monday, John Pullano of the team's official site reports.
Johnson had just signed with the team earlier this month but will now head to waivers. The rookie undrafted free agent will look to catch on with another team in need of tight end depth.
-
Scotty Washington TE | BAL
Ravens' Scotty Washington: Breaks hand
Washington broke his hand during Saturday's preseason game against the Eagles, Jeff Zrebiec of The Athletic reports.
Washington was likely fighting for a depth spot in the Ravens' tight end room, so this injury hurts his chances of making the team's 53-man roster. Expect both Mike Rigerman and Riley Sharp to see more preseason reps with Washington sidelined for the foreseeable future.
