  • Kyle Pitts TE | ATL

Falcons' Kyle Pitts: Leads team with 44 receiving yards

Pitts caught two of three targets for 44 yards during Sunday's 24-10 win over the Panthers.

Aside from a 26-yard reception being called back due to illegal motion, Pitts was quiet for most of the day. However, he made his presence felt with a huge 34-yard catch in the fourth quarter which was quickly followed up by Tyler Allgeier's second touchdown. As expected, Atlanta leaned heavily on the run, limiting Pitts' and Drake London's opportunities; however, both one-time first-round picks should have more chances moving forward.

  • Bears' Stephen Carlson: Won't suit up Week 1

Carlson (coach's decision) was ruled inactive ahead of Sunday's game against the Packers.

Carlson was elevated from the practice squad after Chicago listed veteran tight end Robert Tonyan (back) on Saturday's injury report. However, with Tonyan active Sunday, it appears Carlson's services will no longer be needed Week 1. He'll likely continue to serve as the team's go-to option at tight end if tight ends Cole Kmet, Marcedes Lewis and/or Tonyan sustain any injuries over the next few weeks.

  • Pat Freiermuth TE | PIT

Steelers' Pat Freiermuth: Exits Sunday's game

Freiermuth was forced out of Sunday's game against the 49ers with a chest injury, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports.

Prior to his exit from the contest, Freiermuth caught his only target for a three-yard TD. In Freiermuth's absence, Darnell Washington and Connor Heyward are next up for the Steelers' TE reps.

  • Eagles' Albert Okwuegbunam: Not taking the field

Okwuegbunam (coach's decision) is inactive Sunday against the Patriots.

Okwuegbunam will sit out the season opener as the Eagles will opt to go with Grant Calcaterra and Jack Stoll behind starter Dallas Goedert at tight end.

  • Nate Adkins TE | DEN

Broncos' Nate Adkins: Healthy scratch for Week 1

Adkins (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against the Raiders, Aric DiLalla of the Broncos' official site reports.

A rookie undrafted free agent, Adkins made the Broncos' initial 53-man roster, but he'll be inactive for the season opener. Adam Trautman, Greg Dulcich and Chris Manhertz are currently ahead of Adkins on the depth chart.

  • Julian Hill TE | NE

Dolphins' Julian Hill: Ruled out Week 1

Hill (ankle) was deemed inactive ahead of Sunday's game against the Chargers.

Hill will have to wait to make his NFL debut until at least Week 2 as he deals with an ankle injury to begin the 2023 season. When healthy, the undrafted free agent out of Campbell figures to slot into a deep reserve role behind veteran tight ends Durham Smythe and Tyler Kroft.

  • Colts' Andrew Ogletree: Ruled out Sunday

Ogletree (concussion) will not return to Sunday's matchup with the Jaguars, Mike Chappell of Fox 59 News Indianapolis reports.

Ogletree sustained a blow to the head during the first half and was placed in the league's concussion protocol after exiting the game. The second-year tight end will now remain out for the remainder of Indianapolis' season opener, and his next chance to play will come versus the Texans on Sunday, Sept. 17.

  • Robert Tonyan TE | PIT

    Bears' Robert Tonyan: Playing Sunday

Tonyan (back) is active for Sunday's game against the Packers.

Tonyan avoided the Bears' Week 1 injury report until Saturday, when he was tacked on to it with a back issue and listed as questionable for Sunday. It won't stop him from suiting up for the season opener, but he may yield TE reps to Marcedes Lewis behind Cole Kmet, the Bears' top option at the position. No matter, Tonyan will be looking to make an impact versus his previous employer.

  • Colts' Andrew Ogletree: Enters concussion protocol

Ogletree is questionable to return to Sunday's game versus the Jaguars, George Bremer of The Anderson Herald Bulletin reports.

Ogletree entered the league's concussion protocol after a head-to-head collision. With Will Mallory (coach's decision) also out, the Colts will be down to Kylen Granson and Mo Alie-Cox at tight end should Ogletree not return.

  • Elijah Higgins TE | ARI

    Cardinals' Elijah Higgins: Inactive Sunday

Higgins (coach's decision) is inactive for Sunday's game against Washington.

The 22-year-old was claimed by Arizona on Aug. 30 after he didn't make the Dolphins' 53-man roster. Even though the Cardinals added Higgins, he won't be suiting up Sunday, as he's the team's fourth tight end on their depth chart. His next chance to be active on game day will come in Week 2 against the Giants.
