Smith didn't catch his only target in Sunday's 37-34 overtime loss to the Falcons.

Smith's 38 offensive snaps trailed only DJ Moore and Terrace Marshall among Carolina's wideouts, but he was unable to make an impact. In contrast, Laviska Shenault gathered five of six targets for 26 yards despite playing 15 snaps fewer than Smith, offering notable competition that hurts Smith's already tepid fantasy value.

McGowan reverted to the Commanders' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's official transaction log.

McGowan made his second appearance of the season, as Dyami Brown (groin) and Jahan Dotson (hamstring) were both inactive Sunday against the Colts. The 22-year-old played nine snaps on offense, which tied Dax Milne for the fourth most among the team's wide receiver corps. He also chipped in seven snaps on special teams, but he failed to leave a mark on the stat sheet.

Johnson reverted to the Seahawks' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's official transaction log.

Johnson received the promotion with DK Metcalf (knee), Tyler Lockett (hamstring) and Penny Hart (hamstring) all going into Sunday against the Giants with injuries. However, Metcalf and Lockett were both able to play and Johnson played just one snap on offense.

Martin reverted to the 49ers' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's official transaction log.

Martin received the elevation with Deebo Samuel and Jauan Jennings both out due to hamstring injuries. The 24-year-old was making his NFL debut and saw one offensive snap against the Rams while also logging five on special teams. However, the rookie failed to tally any stats.

Sanders reverted to Miami's practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.

Sanders was elevated to the active roster for Week 8 and made his NFL debut, playing 14 of Miami's 68 offensive snaps. The undrafted rookie out of Ole Miss caught both of his targets for 17 yards, though he did lose a fumble trying to get extra yards following one of his receptions. The Dolphins' wideout corps is relatively healthy heading into Sunday's matchup against the Bears, so it appears unlikely Sanders sees a second straight elevation.

Collins (groin) was listed as a non-participant on Monday's practice estimate.

Collins was inactive Sunday against the Titans, with Brooks Kubena of the Houston Chronicle relaying via coach Lovie Smith that "it's going to be hard" for the wideout to be ready for Thursday night's game against the Eagles. If Collins remains out, Phillip Dorsett and Chris Moore once again would see added WR snaps Week 9 alongside Brandin Cooks.

Berryhill reverted to the Lions' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's transaction log.

With Amon-Ra St. Brown questionable due to a concussion, Berryhill was elevated to the active roster and made his season debut in Week 8. However, St. Brown was ultimately deemed available, leaving Berryhill to play exclusively on special teams. The Lions appear to have avoided any further injuries to their wideout corps during the loss to Miami, so it's unlikely Berryhill sees another elevation in Week 9.

Camp reverted to the Texans' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's official transaction log.

Camp was bumped up from the practice squad with Nico Collins (groin) out, but he was ultimately one of the team's inactive payers Sunday against the Titans. He'll continue working to earn a chance to suit up with the active roster.

The Chiefs signed Newsome to the practice squad Monday, Tom Pelissero of NFL Network reports.

Newsome will finally find a new home after being waived by the Bears in late August. The 2021 sixth-round pick caught two of his five targets for 23 yards over Chicago's final three games last season, and he compiled 75 punt-return yards over this span. Newsome's value as a speedster and return specialist may not be enough to crack Kansas City's deep corps of wide receivers this season, barring any serious injuries to this group.

Alexander (ankle) reverted to the Lions' practice squad Monday, per the NFL's official transaction log.

Alexander only played one offensive snap against the Dolphins on Sunday, but he made it count with a catch for seven yards. He also contributed on special teams, returning a kick for 17 yards. Whether or not Alexander can earn another chance with the active roster will likely depend on how quickly he can recover from the ankle injury he suffered during the contest.
