  • Darius Slayton WR | IND

Giants' Darius Slayton: Avoids injury report

Slayton (ankle) wasn't listed on the Giants' injury report Wednesday, Dan Salomone of the team's official site reports.

Slayton was in and out of the Giants' preseason finale due to a left ankle or foot injury, but he and Sterling Shepard now appear to be the healthiest members of the receiving corps. Wideouts Kenny Golladay (hamstring) and Kadarius Toney (undisclosed) and tight ends Kyle Rudolph (foot) and Kaden Smith (knee) were all limited participants Wednesday, while top tight end Evan Engram (calf) didn't practice at all. Depending on who's available Sunday versus the Broncos, Slayton could be headed for a bigger workload than normal.

  • Colts' Parris Campbell: Limited with Achilles injury

Campbell was a limited participant in practice Wednesday.

According to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, Campbell's groin injury is viewed as more of a lingering issue than a new concern. If the injury doesn't prevent Campbell from playing Sunday against the Seahawks, he'll begin the season as the Colts' No. 3 receiver with T.Y. Hilton out multiple weeks after neck surgery. He'll likely work in the slot role, with Zach Pascal playing outside in three-wideout sets.

  • A.J. Brown WR | NE

Titans' A.J. Brown: Sits out practice

Brown (knee) didn't practice Wednesday, Jim Wyatt of the Titans' official site reports.

It's not unusual for Brown to have his practice reps managed, but his absence Wednesday makes the wideout's status worth monitoring as Sunday's season opener against the Cardinals approaches. A return to practice Thursday in any capacity would put Brown on track to play in Week 1, and if so, he'll be slated to start opposite newcomer Julio Jones (undisclosed), whose name doesn't appear on Tennessee's initial injury report.

  • Bills' Isaiah McKenzie: Ready for Week 1

McKenzie (shoulder) was listed as a full practice participant Wednesday.

McKenzie should be a full go for the Week 1 matchup against the Steelers in Buffalo, where he'll serve as the team's top return man and utility option in certain offensive formations.

  • Chris Godwin WR | TB

Buccaneers' Chris Godwin: Cleared for Thursday

Godwin (quadriceps) doesn't have an injury designation for Thursday's game against Dallas.

Godwin was a mid-week addition to the injury report, listed Tuesday as a limited participant. The Bucs upgraded him to full activity Wednesday, and he should be fine for his usual snap and target load in Thursday's season opener against the Cowboys.

  • Stefon Diggs WR | WAS

Bills' Stefon Diggs: Not on injury report

Diggs (knee) isn't listed on the Bills' Week 1 injury report released Wednesday, Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN.com reports.

The Bills proceeded cautiously with Diggs as their preseason slate concluded, but Wednesday's injury report confirms that he's slated to play in Sunday's season opener against the Steelers. Diggs, who logged a fantasy-friendly 127 catches for 1,535 yards and eight touchdowns in 16 games last season, is slated to reprise his role as the Bills' top pass-catching option in 2021. He'll headline a wideout corps that also includes Emmanuel Sanders, Cole Beasley and Gabriel Davis.

  • Curtis Samuel WR | BUF

Football Team's Curtis Samuel: Potential setback with groin injury

Samuel (groin) acknowledged after Wednesday's practice that he still doesn't feel right, Rhiannon Walker of The Athletic reports.

Scott Abraham of 7 News Washington reports that Samuel limped off the field and visited with trainers after pulling up short on a route at Wednesday's practice. Regardless of whether the team views this as a setback or just more of the same, Samuel now appears to be a long shot to play in Sunday's opener against the Chargers. He had just returned to practice at the beginning of the week, stepping in for team reps for the first time since early June. Samuel's likely absence Week 1 leaves extra snaps available for Adam Humphries, Dyami Brown and Cam Sims behind No. 1 receiver Terry McLaurin.

  • Noah Brown WR | LV

Cowboys' Noah Brown: Off COVID-19 list

The Cowboys activated Brown (illness) from the reserve/COVID-19 list Wednesday.

On Tuesday, coach Mike McCarthy told Clarence E. Hill Jr. of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram that of the Cowboys on the COVID list, guard Brandon Knight (undisclosed) had the best odds to suit up Thursday at Tampa Bay. However, Knight and Zack Martin (illness) remain on the list, while Brown now will have a chance to suit up in the season opener. Brown is buried on the wide receiver depth chart and doesn't have utility as a returner, meaning McCarthy may opt to include Brown on the inactive list Thursday.

  • Kadarius Toney WR | CLE

Giants' Kadarius Toney: On practice field Wednesday

Toney (undisclosed) took part in practice Wednesday, Art Stapleton of The Bergen Record reports.

Toney hasn't exactly had a smooth summer as he gears up for his first professional campaign, contending with COVID-19 in late July and an undisclosed injury in August that sidelined him for the entire preseason. Still, the 20th overall pick in this year's draft ran routes at full speed last Wednesday and now seems to be gearing up for an appearance Week 1 versus Denver. The Giants will post their first injury report of the season later Wednesday, at which point his activity level will become known.

  • Penny Hart WR | ATL

Seahawks' Penny Hart: Promoted to active roster

The Seahawks promoted Hart to the active roster Tuesday, John Boyle of Seahawks.com reports.

Seattle placed a trio of players on injured reserve Tuesday, which made room for Hart to be promoted from the practice squad. He will be the fifth wideout on the Seahawks' depth chart, but he will likely only see action on special teams during Week 1.
