James Washington WR | ATL
Steelers' James Washington: Three grabs in Saturday's win
Washington (leg) secured three of four targets for 24 yards in the Steelers' 26-20 preseason win over the Lions on Saturday night.
The speedster was able to shake off the leg injury that had befallen him earlier in camp to suit up and play a solid role in the night's air attack. Washington made some waves earlier in August with a reported trade request, and a move elsewhere could still potentially come to fruition ahead of Week 1; however, for the moment, there's no indication the 2018 second-round pick won't open the new season in Pittsburgh, albeit as a likely No. 4 wideout once again.

Jaylen Waddle WR | DEN
Dolphins' Jaylen Waddle: Survives injury scare
Waddle caught three of four targets for 21 yards while missing some snaps due to injury during Saturday's preseason win against the Falcons.
With six wide receivers sitting for the Dolphins -- notably, DeVante Parker (undisclosed) and Will Fuller (foot) -- Waddle got the start and was targeted on three of Tua Tagovailoa's first four passes. On the 10th play of Miami's opening drive, though, Waddle was undercut by an Atlanta defender while blocking. The scary moment included the rookie first-round pick remaining on the field for awhile, going to the blue medical tent and eventually walking to the locker room under his own power, all the while in visible pain. However, he was able to come back to the sideline, test out his left leg with running and cutting and eventually rejoin the Dolphins offense on the field. It'll be interesting to see if he misses upcoming practices, but Waddle appears to have dodged a bullet during exhibition action.

Amari Rodgers WR | IND
Packers' Amari Rodgers: Solid showing Saturday
Rodgers caught four of five targets for 31 yards in Saturday's preseason loss to the Jets.
With the Packers resting most of their starters, Rodgers saw plenty of snaps with the first-team offense but didn't post particularly great numbers with third-string QB Kurt Benkert under center. The 2021 third-round pick should have a spot on the Week 1 roster, but Green Bay's depth at wide receiver could make it tough for him to get much attention from Aaron Rodgers.

Amon-Ra St. Brown WR | DET
Lions' Amon-Ra St. Brown: Underwhelming against Steelers
St. Brown caught two of five targets for 12 yards during Saturday's 26-20 preseason loss to the Steelers.
After having an impressive offseason, training camp and preseason opener, St. Brown's performance Saturday was somewhat underwhelming. While many of the team's first-half offensive struggles can probably be blamed on QB Tim Boyle, it was St. Brown's fault on at least one incompletion, and it's possible multiple drops could be attributed to the USC product. However, St. Brown was targeted five times on his 11 offensive snaps, and that was with projected starter Breshad Perriman also on the field. Even if St. Brown loses some snaps to Kalif Raymond and/or Quintez Cephus to some extent early on during the regular season, the rookie seems primed to have a significant offensive role for the Lions from the jump.

Breshad Perriman WR | IND
Lions' Breshad Perriman: Catchless in Lions debut
Perriman was targeted twice but did not record a catch during Saturday's 26-20 preseason loss to Pittsburgh.
Perriman actually had three targets but was called for offensive pass interference on a 27-yard gain. Regardless, the 26-year-old at least looked healthy after missing a significant portion of training camp plus the preseason opener due to a hip injury. While his preseason probably is over if we can assume that all of Detroit's starters will be rested during the exhibition finale next Friday against Indianapolis, Perriman seems ready to go for Week 1 of the regular season.

Robbie Chosen WR | WAS
Panthers' Robby Anderson: Catches pass in return
Anderson (hamstring) caught a 16-yard reception on one target in Saturday's preseason game against Baltimore.
Anderson's catch was the only completion for starting quarterback Sam Darnold, who Anderson previously worked well with while playing for the Jets. If Anderson's hamstring issue stays behind him, then he should be in position to maintain the momentum he generated in last year's 95-catch breakout season.
-
Lynn Bowden Jr. WR | NO
Dolphins' Lynn Bowden: No go Saturday
Bowden (hamstring) was listed as not expected to play on the Dolphins' injury report before Saturday's preseason game.
Bowden suffered a hamstring strain during Thursday's practice and didn't play in the Dolphins' second exhibition. An MRI revealed that the hamstring wasn't fully torn, but the injury could still keep him out for an extended time. With Miami signing Will Fuller and drafting Jaylen Waddle this offseason, Bowden's stock has slipped significantly, and he now may be in jeopardy of missing the regular-season roster.
-
DK Metcalf WR | PIT
Seahawks' DK Metcalf: May not play Saturday
Metcalf is not likely to play in Saturday's preseason game against Denver, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.
Metcalf was doing a lot of work pregame, suggesting that may be the only action he sees on the night. The Seahawks announced that 22 players will not hit the field for the game, though didn't specify exactly who would be sidelined. Other strong candidates to sit out include Russell Wilson, Gerald Everett and Tyler Lockett.
-
D'Wayne Eskridge WR | MIA
Seahawks' D'Wayne Eskridge: Out for Saturday's game
Eskridge was seen working on the field before Saturday's preseason game against the Broncos but will not play, Bob Condotta of The Seattle Times reports.
Eskridge was activated from the PUP list Aug. 17 but will have to wait to make his professional debut. He's expected to be ready for Week 1 against the Colts, and his ability to return to practice in recent days is a positive sign in that regard. Eskridge will be competing for the third receiver role with Freddie Swain.
-
Nico Collins WR | HOU
Texans' Nico Collins: Sitting out Saturday
Collins will not play in Saturday's preseason game against Dallas, the Houston Chronicle reports.
It's not clear whether the rookie third-round pick is dealing with an injury, but nothing reported to this point gives reason to suspect it. With Brandin Cooks locked in as the WR1, Collins is competing with Chris Conley for the second outside wide receiver role while Keke Coutee and Anthony Miller likely fight for the slot receiver tasks in three-wide formations.
