Marquez Callaway WR | LV
Saints' Marquez Callaway: Hot start in preseason opener
Callaway caught three of four targets for 61 yards in Saturday's 17-14 preseason loss to the Ravens.
Callaway has been the favorite practice target for both Taysom Hill and Jameis Winston, and his rapport with the former was evident on the opening drive, when Callaway caught all three of his targets for 61 yards. His only other target over the next two possessions resulted in an incomplete pass, though. With Michael Thomas (ankle) and Tre'Quan Smith (undisclosed) both sidelined by injuries, Callaway has established himself as the Saints' top healthy receiver, and he could retain that title over Smith for the duration of Thomas' absence, which is expected to last well into the regular season. Callaway will look to strengthen his case in Week 2 of the preseason against Jacksonville.

Ihmir Smith-Marsette WR | ARI
Vikings' Ihmir Smith-Marsette: Does little with opportunity
Smith-Marsette recorded two receptions on six targets for 12 yards in Saturday's preseason game against the Broncos.
Smith-Marsette was on the field throughout the game. He led the team with six targets and also served as the kick returner. However, he didn't do much with his opportunity, failing to convert many of his targets into receptions and doing little with the catches he did make. Smith-Marsette was a fifth-round selection and could make the team as a special teams contributor and depth receiver.

Randall Cobb WR | NYJ
Packers' Randall Cobb: Will not see action Saturday
Cobb will not play in Saturday's preseason opener against the Texans, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.
Cobb could have played Saturday if the Packers wanted to get him some live reps in head coach Matt LaFleur's system, but it was decided that was not worth the risk of an injury. Cobb and starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers spent eight seasons together earlier in their careers, so don't expect chemistry to be an issue between the two.
-
Marquez Valdes-Scantling WR | LAC
Packers' Marquez Valdes-Scantling: Will be held out Saturday
Valdes-Scantling will not play in Saturday's preseason opener against the Texans, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.
Valdes-Scantling is currently listed as a starter on the Packers' depth chart, so it should come as little surprise that he will sit out alongside starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
-
Allen Lazard WR | NYJ
Packers' Allen Lazard: Out for exhibition opener
Lazard will not play in Saturday's preseason opener against the Texans, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.
With starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers out Saturday, Lazard will sit out as well. Lazard is not listed as a starter on the Packers' current depth chart, but the team figures to utilize three wide receivers plenty, so he should still see the field quite a bit.
-
Davante Adams WR | LAR
Packers' Davante Adams: Out for preseason opener
Adams will not play in Saturday's preseason opener against the Texans, Rob Demovsky of ESPN.com reports.
Starting quarterback Aaron Rodgers will not play in Saturday's contest as expected, and the Packers will hold their top wide receiver out as well. Rodgers is unlikely to play during the preseason, so Adams may not take the field until Week 1.
-
Elijah Moore WR | PHI
Jets' Elijah Moore: Not in uniform for preseason opener
Moore (quad) was not spotted during warmups prior to Saturday's preseason opener against the Giants, according to Ralph Vacchiano of SportsNet New York.
Moore left Thursday's practice with a quad injury, and although the results of a follow-up MRI have not been released, it does not appear he will take the field Saturday. Expect the Jets to provide an official update on Moore's status at some point in the coming days.
-
Kadarius Toney WR | CLE
Giants' Kadarius Toney: Not spotted during warmups
Toney was not spotted during warmups prior to Saturday's preseason opener against the Jets, according to Ralph Vacchiano of SportsNet New York.
Toney has been brought along slowly after recovering from COVID-19, and it appears the Giants will remain cautious with him Saturday. While it appears he will have to wait to see his first action as a professional, he should have a chance to take the field next Sunday against the Browns with eight days between the Giants' first and second exhibition contests.
-
Miles Boykin WR | CHI
Ravens' Miles Boykin: Sitting out first preseason game
Boykin (hamstring) will not play in Saturday's preseason game against New Orleans, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
Boykin has dealt with a hamstring injury since Aug. 2, and that's believed to be the reason he's sitting out Saturday's game. With Sammy Watkins, Rashod Bateman (groin) and Tylan Wallace added at receiver this offseason, Boykin faces competition for a roster spot for the first time in his three-year career.
-
Marquise Brown WR | PHI
Ravens' Marquise Brown: Out for Saturday's game
Brown (hamstring) won't play in Saturday's preseason game against New Orleans, Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com reports.
Fellow wideouts Miles Boykin (hamstring) and Rashod Bateman (groin) will also be out for Saturday's exhibition, with the latter in danger of missing Week 1 after his injury required surgery. Brown has been dealing with a hamstring injury since late July and still hasn't returned to practice.
