Jalen Royals WR | KC
Chiefs' Jalen Royals: Officially limited Wednesday
Royals (knee) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice.
Royals is practicing for the first time since having missed Kansas City's first two games of the regular season due to knee tendinitis, so to see him handling even limited reps is encouraging. The rookie fourth-round pick will work to continue progressing at practice and gain clearance in time to suit up Sunday night on the road against the Giants.

Xavier Worthy WR | KC
Chiefs' Xavier Worthy: Limited in return to practice
Worthy (shoulder) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported Sunday that Worthy was "looking good" for a Week 3 return. The wideout's subsequent return to practice supports that notion, though neither Worthy nor coach Andy Reid has commented on expectations yet. The Chiefs hope to have Worthy and/or Jalen Royals (knee) back in the lineup this Sunday at the Giants, after each of Hollywood Brown, Tyquan Thornton and JuJu Smith-Schuster got at least a 74 percent route share in the Week 2 loss to Philadelphia.

Darnell Mooney WR | ATL
Falcons' Darnell Mooney: Remains limited by shoulder issue
Mooney (shoulder) practiced on a limited basis Wednesday, Tori McElhaney of the Falcons' official site reports.
In the wake of his season debut in this past Sunday's win at Minnesota, Mooney continues to deal with the shoulder issue that sidelined him Week 1 against the Buccaneers. He still handled an 86 percent snap share Week 2 en route to two catches (on four targets) for 20 yards. Mooney's activity level Thursday and Friday ultimately will forecast whether or not he enters the weekend with a designation for Sunday's game in Carolina.

Chris Godwin WR | TB
Buccaneers' Chris Godwin: Listed as limited participant
Godwin (ankle) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice.
He practiced for the first time last Thursday before returning to non-activity Friday. Godwin's second instance of official practice participation is a positive sign, but reports earlier this month suggested he's unlikely to play before October and is being kept on the active roster only to practice and ramp up with teammates (rather than being restricted to a side field while on an injury list). The Buccaneers, however, haven't said anything of the sort publicly, instead waiting for the final injury report to rule Godwin out in Weeks 1 and 2.

Emeka Egbuka WR | TB
Buccaneers' Emeka Egbuka: Doesn't practice Wednesday
Egbuka didn't practice Wednesday due to hip and groin injuries.
The rookie first-round pick has kicked off his pro career with a bang, combining for three touchdown catches in his first two games. Overall, he has eight receptions (on 13 targets) for 96 yards and the aforementioned scores. There's no telling if the new health concerns are threatening his availability for Sunday's contest against the Jets, but his activity level Thursday and Friday likely will provide insight in that regard.
-
Josh Reynolds WR | NYJ
Jets' Josh Reynolds: Still not practicing
Reynolds (hamstring) did not practice Wednesday, Rich Cimini of ESPN.com reports.
Reynolds hasn't practiced since last Thursday, putting him potentially at risk of missing a second consecutive game and being forced to sit out Sunday's contest against the Buccaneers, in which Tyrod Taylor is slated to start in place of an injured Justin Fields (concussion). When healthy Week 1, Reynolds secured two of three targets for 18 yards while playing 97 percent of New York's offensive snaps.

Jauan Jennings WR | SF
49ers' Jauan Jennings: Limited Wednesday
Jennings (shoulder/ankle) will be limited at practice Wednesday, Cam Inman of The San Jose Mercury News reports.
Jennings exited a season-opening win at Seattle due to a left shoulder injury that capped him to one limited session during Week 2 prep. He was able to suit up this past Sunday in New Orleans and take on an 87 percent snap share on his way to five catches (on 10 targets) for 89 yards and one touchdown while working with fill-in starting quarterback Mac Jones. Jennings will be joined as a limited participant Wednesday by No. 1 signal-caller Brock Purdy (toe/left shoulder), who has a chance to return to action this Sunday versus the Cardinals, as coach Kyle Shanahan told Nick Wagoner of ESPN.com on Wednesday. As a result, the potential exists for Jennings to have his most familiar quarterback under center Week 3, assuming the wide receiver is able to play through his shoulder and ankle issues.
-
Josh Downs WR | IND
Colts' Josh Downs: Not practicing due to ankle injury
Downs (ankle) didn't practice Wednesday.
It's perhaps unexpected, given that Downs' workload improved from Week 1 to Week 2, although his snap share (60 percent) and route share (63 percent) were still low relative to last year's numbers. He's getting the ball when he's on the field, at least, with a target on 31 percent of his routes for the season after finishing Sunday's win over Denver with a team-high eight targets. If Downs can't play this weekend at Tennessee, the Colts have Adonai Mitchell and Ashton Dulin as their top backups at wide receiver. Both would project for lower target rates than Downs, which would mean slightly higher rates for Tyler Warren and Michael Pittman.
-
Darius Slayton WR | NYG
Giants' Darius Slayton: Limited in practice
Slayton (groin/calf) was a limited participant in Wednesday's practice, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.
Slayton has played all but one of the Giants' offensive snaps through two weeks this season, though in that span he's brought in just two catches for 61 yards on five targets, with all of his production having come during Week 2's overtime loss to the Cowboys. While Slayton being limited Wednesday doesn't yet seem an indication that his status is genuinely in jeopardy for Sunday night's matchup against the Chiefs, he appears definitively positioned behind both Wan'Dale Robinson and superstar Malik Nabers in New York's wide receiver pecking order.
