  • Jayden Reed WR | GB

Packers' Jayden Reed: DNP on Wednesday

Reed (foot) was a non-participant at Wednesday's practice, Ryan Wood of USA Today reports.

Reed got back on the practice field last Wednesday and then took part in a competitive team scrimmage in pads Thursday, after which it was revealed that his absence for the preceding three weeks was due to a Jones fracture in his left foot, per Jason Wilde of CBS Madison. After last Wednesday's session, he acknowledged to Wood that he isn't able to run routes without discomfort, so his DNP this Wednesday may be just maintenance to ensure he's as healthy as possible for Sunday's matchup with the Lions. Reed's activity level, or lack thereof, Thursday and/or Friday may provide insight into his odds to suit up Week 1.

  • Khalil Shakir WR | BUF

Bills' Khalil Shakir: Set for limited practice Wednesday

Coach Sean McDermott noted that Shakir (ankle) will practice Wednesday in a limited capacity, Maddy Glab of the Bills' official site reports.

Shakir -- who suffered a high-ankle sprain Aug. 1 -- thus has two more opportunities to practice fully ahead of Sunday's regular-season opener against the Ravens. When available, the 2022 fifth-rounder is on track to reprise his role as a go-to passing target for QB Josh Allen. Given that he'll be able to practice Wednesday, albeit in a limited capacity, Shakir is trending toward suiting up this weekend, but until he logs a full session, his status will be worth monitoring.

  • Jalen Royals WR | KC

Chiefs' Jalen Royals: Ruled out for Week 1

Royals (knee) is ruled out for Friday's regular-season opener against the Chargers and will not travel with the team to Brazil.

Coach Andy Reid previously said he didn't expect Royals to be available Week 1, so his being ruled out doesn't come as a surprise. Kansas City didn't hold a practice session Wednesday, but he was a non-participant Tuesday due to lingering knee tendinitus. The rookie fourth-round pick's next chance to play will arrive Week 2 at home versus the Eagles. With Rashee Rice suspended the first six games of the season, Royals will have a path to compete with JuJu Smith-Schuster for snaps behind Xavier Worthy and Hollywood Brown once fully healthy.

  • Elic Ayomanor WR | TEN

Titans' Elic Ayomanor: Listed as starter entering Week 1

Ayomanor was listed as a starting wide receiver on the Titans' unofficial depth chart released Tuesday.

Ayomanor slipped to the fourth round of the 2025 NFL Draft, but he's since had strong showings in training camp and the preseason. He showed rapport with Cameron Ward, delivering long gains of 35 and 13 yards in Tennessee's second and third preseason games, respectively. Ayomanor may begin the season behind Tyler Lockett in priority for targets, but it wouldn't be surprising to see him ascend to complement Calvin Ridley as the season wears on.

  • Thayer Thomas WR | DEN

Thayer Thomas: Joins Denver's practice squad

The Broncos signed Thomas to the practice squad Tuesday, Luca Evans of The Denver Post reports.

Thomas spent the offseason with Minnesota and the last two years on the team's practice squad, but he was cut late August and now gets an opportunity in Denver. The 27-year-old wideout is still looking for a chance to make his regular-season debut.

  • 49ers' Marquez Valdes-Scantling: Signed to active roster

The 49ers signed Valdes-Scantling to the active roster from the practice squad Tuesday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

San Francisco picked up Valdes-Scantling after he was let go by Seattle last week, and the veteran speedster now joins the 53-man roster in advance of Sunday's road game against the Seahawks team he spent training camp with. It's possible that the 49ers were wary of Valdes-Scantling being poached by another team, were he to be kept on the practice squad. In any case, he'll join Skyy Moore and Jordan Watkins (ankle) as depth options at wide receiver behind Jauan Jennings (calf) and Ricky Pearsall for Week 1.

  • Tre Harris WR | LAC

Chargers' Tre' Harris: In clear for Week 1

Harris (undisclosed) isn't listed on the Chargers' initial Week 1 injury report that was released Tuesday.

Harris exited a practice last Wednesday due to an unspecified issue, but his absence from the Week 1 injury report implies that he took every rep during Tuesday's session. The rookie second-round receiver out of Ole Miss will be available for Friday's season opener versus the Chiefs in Sao Paulo, Brazil, but it's unclear if he'll be able to immediately earn meaningful target volume on the perimeter after the Chargers brought aboard veteran slot man Keenan Allen in August to complement No. 1 wideout Ladd McConkey and third-year man Quentin Johnston.

  • Chargers' Quentin Johnston: Off injury report

Johnston (concussion) isn't listed on the Chargers' initial Week 1 injury report that was released Tuesday.

Chargers head coach Jim Harbaugh had already confirmed Monday that Johnston cleared the NFL's five-step concussion protocol, and the third-year wideout's absence from the injury report suggests that he practiced fully Tuesday and will be available for Friday's season opener versus the Chiefs in Sao Paulo, Brazil. While Johnston projects to begin the 2025 campaign as a starter, the Chargers' offseason additions of veteran Keenan Allen and rookie second-round pick Tre' Harris could cut into Johnston's target share and playing time.

  • Robert Woods WR | PIT

Robert Woods: Cut from practice squad

The Steelers released Woods from their practice squad Tuesday.

Woods is 33 years old and has no desire to be on a team's practice squad, and he only wants to play if he's on a 53-man roster, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports. Woods spent the summer in Pittsburgh but was unable to crack to the Steelers' Week 1 roster.

  • Silas Bolden WR | HOU

    Silas Bolden: Signs with Houston

Bolden signed with the Texans' practice squad Monday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.

Signed by the Vikings as an undrafted free agent out of Texas back in April, Bolden appeared in two preseason games for Minnesota but caught just one pass for three yards across 27 offensive snaps.
