Trey Palmer WR | NO
Trey Palmer: Caught up in roster cuts
The Buccaneers waived Palmer on Tuesday, Rick Stroud of the Tampa Bay Times reports.
Tampa Bay's decision to part ways with Palmer is somewhat surprising, given that the team projects to be without both Jalen McMillan (neck) and Chris Godwin (PUP-ankle) for at least the first month of the regular season. It's possible that the 2023 sixth-round pick lost out on a roster spot as a result of the hamstring injury that forced him to miss the Buccaneers' first two preseason games, though he returned for the team's final exhibition tilt against Buffalo on Saturday, securing one of two targets for 13 yards. If he clears waivers, Palmer seems likely to resurface on the practice squad.

Diontae Johnson WR | CLE
Diontae Johnson: Released by Cleveland
The Browns released Johnson on Tuesday, Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reports.
Johnson got extensive playing time this preseason, mostly with the second- and third-string offenses, but caught just two of six targets for 19 yards. He also failed to earn a meaningful role in Baltimore and Houston during the second half of last season, after enjoying a volume-fueled run of production for Carolina earlier in 2024. Jamari Thrash is the favorite for Cleveland's No. 3 receiver job in Week 1, behind presumed starters Jerry Jeudy and Cedric Tillman.

Blayne Taylor WR | IND
Blayne Taylor: Waived by Colts
Taylor was waived by Indianapolis on Thursday, the Indianapolis Star reports.
He caught just one pass in the preseason. The undrafted free agent from Abilene Christian will look to catch on elsewhere.

Garrett Greene WR | TB
Buccaneers' Garrett Greene: Impresses in preseason finale
Greene brought in all three targets for 18 yards and a touchdown in the Buccaneers' 23-19 preseason loss to the Bills on Saturday night.
The converted quarterback flashed with a one-yard touchdown catch just past the two-minute warning, his first score of the exhibition slate. Greene recorded multiple receptions in all three preseason games, and he also gained 52 combined yards on a pair of punt returns and one kickoff runback. The versatile West Virginia product likely still has an uphill battle to make the 53-man roster due to the depth at receiver, but Greene may be an ideal practice-squad candidate.

Jerjuan Newton WR | DEN
Jerjuan Newton: Can't make roster
Newton was waived by the Broncos on Monday, Zac Stevens of TheDNVR.com reports.
Newton had a productive collegiate career with Toledo but was always a longshot to make Denver's roster after joining the team as an undrafted free agent. He made five catches for 26 yards across three preseason games.
-
Kyrese Rowan WR | DEN
Kyrese Rowan: Let go by Broncos
Rowan was waived by the Broncos on Monday, Zac Stevens of TheDNVR.com reports.
Rowan joined the Broncos as an undrafted free agent following the 2025 Draft. He logged four catches during Denver's preseason slate, but he'll now look to latch on elsewhere around the league.
-
Hal Presley WR | TEN
Hal Presley: Let go by Kansas City
Presley was waived by the Chiefs on Monday, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Presley signed with Kansas City in late July, reeling in two catches for 20 yards over three preseason contests with the team. He will now be placed on waivers, and if he goes unclaimed, there's a good chance he'll stick around as a member of the Chiefs' practice squad.
-
Brenden Rice WR | NE
Chargers' Brenden Rice: Set to be dropped
Rice is slated to be waived by the Chargers, Mike Garafolo of NFL Network reports.
Rice appeared in three of the team's preseason contests, reeling in three catches for 32 yards. The wide receiver appeared in three regular-season contests with Los Angeles in 2024, failing to record any stats while playing three offensive snaps and 10 snaps on special teams. Rice will now be placed on waivers, and if he goes unclaimed, there's a solid chance he sticks around as a member of the Chargers' practice squad.

Ketron Jackson Jr. WR | LV
Ketron Jackson: Dropped by Las Vegas
Jackson was waived by the Raiders on Monday.
Jackson signed with Las Vegas in May as an undrafted free agent, but he failed to record any stats during the preseason. The wide receiver will likely clear waivers, and he may stick around with the Raiders' practice squad.
-
Collin Johnson WR | LV
Collin Johnson: Dropped by Las Vegas
Johnson was released by the Raiders on Monday.
Johnson signed with Las Vegas in May after appearing in nine regular-season games with the Bears in 2024. The wide receiver secured five catches for 42 yards while playing in all of the Raiders' preseason contests. Johnson will likely find a new opportunity in the near future, though he may have to settle for a practice-squad spot ahead of the 2025 campaign.
