The Packers released Melton on Friday.

Because Melton is a vested veteran and not subject to waivers at this point in the season, he's expected to sign back on Green Bay's practice squad, from which the team will be able to elevate him Saturday ahead of Sunday's game at Minnesota. Through three NFL campaigns, the wide receiver has posted a combined 28-416-2 line on 54 targets in 38 regular-season contests.

Stowers (hamstring) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game versus the Commanders.

Stowers is about two-and-a-half weeks removed from picking up a hamstring injury, but his ability to log three straight limited sessions this week has put him in position to make his pro debut Sunday. Ultimately, his status will become known, one way or another, about 90 minutes before a 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff.

Demercado may serve as the Cowboys' No. 2 RB on Sunday at the Giants after Malik Davis was ruled out for the contest due to a hip injury, Nick Eatman of the team's official site reports.

Davis was carted off the field during Friday's practice, and a diagnosed hip injury now could keep him sidelined for "some period of time," per Cowboys COO Stephen Jones on 105.3 The Fan Dallas. As the only other running back on the active roster behind starter Javonte Williams, Demercado, who was claimed off waivers on Aug. 31, seemingly is the next player up, but what kind of role he'll get off the bat remains to be seen. Demercado's competitors for reserve RB reps are FB Hunter Luepke and practice-squad member Israel Abanikanda.

Cowboys COO Stephen Jones said on 105.3 The Fan Dallas that Davis (hip) suffered a "pretty serious injury" at Friday's practice that "could take him out for some period of time."

Davis required a cart to leave the practice field Friday, was diagnosed with a hip injury and then promptly ruled out on the Cowboys' final Week 1 practice report. As long as Davis is out, Emari Demercado, Hunter Luepke and practice-squad member Israel Abanikanda will the options to fill out the backfield behind No. 1 RB Javonte Williams.

Allen (hip) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against Cleveland, Mia O'Brien of 1010 XL 92.5 FM Jacksonville reports.

Allen missed about three weeks of practice before returning Thursday and Friday as a limited participant. The Jaguars have Ameer Abdullah on hand to fill in as a competent passing-down specialist if Allen isn't active ahead of the 1:00 p.m. ET kickoff Sunday.

Kacmarek (calf) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's game at Las Vegas, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.

The rookie third-round pick upgraded to full practice participation Friday after being limited earlier in the week. Greg Dulcich is Miami's top receiving threat at tight end, but Kacmarek could play a lot of snaps as a blocker and see a few targets here and there.

Love (ankle) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game at the Chargers, Theo Mackie of The Arizona Republic reports.

Love has been tending to a high-ankle sprain that he suffered preseason Week 1, and nearly one month later, he was able to log three consecutive limited practices and set himself up for his pro debut. Ultimately, the Cardinals may not make a call on Love's status until roughly 90 minutes before Sunday's 4:25 p.m. ET kickoff, which was corroborated by coach Mike LaFleur, who told Josh Weinfuss of ESPN.com on Friday that Love will be a game-time decision. In the end, an active Love on Sunday would share the backfield with Tyler Allgeier.

Meyers (thumb) doesn't have an injury designation for Sunday's matchup with Cleveland, Mia O'Brien of ESPN Radio reports.

The Jaguars listed Meyers as a limited participant all week, but he shed his non-contact jersey Friday and now has been deemed ready to play. He figures to occupy a top-three role alongside Parker Washington and Brian Thomas.

Nabers (knee) is listed as questionable for Sunday's game against the Cowboys, Dan Salomone of the Giants' official site reports.

Nabers wrapped up Week 1 prep with three consecutive full practices, but the Giants seemingly will take it down to the wire when it comes to a decision on his status. With Sunday's kickoff arriving at 8:20 p.m. ET, a decision may not be revealed until the Giants release their inactive list 90 minutes prior to game time, which wouldn't leave many options for fantasy managers to pivot to if New York opts to hold Nabers out. Both Nabers and head coach John Harbaugh have been non-committal on the wide receiver's potential to play this weekend, with Nabers himself weighing the long-term implications when he does return from the torn ACL and lateral meniscus in his right knee he sustained Week 4 of last season, per Evan Barnes of Newsday.

Pierce (heel) will not carry an injury designation into Sunday's season opener against the Ravens.

Pierce was a limited practice participant throughout the week, never quite upgrading to full, and per Stephen Holder of The Athletic, it's unclear if he will handle a full workload. However, the Colts have at least left no doubt that Pierce will play this Sunday. Any limitations could mean more work for Josh Downs, Keenan Allen and/or Ashton Dulin.
