  • Panthers' Jonathon Brooks: Practicing in pads Wednesday

Brooks (general soreness) is in uniform and pads at Wednesday's practice, Mike Kaye of ESPN.com reports.

With Brooks having worked off to the side earlier in the week, his presence in uniform and pads would suggest he's trending toward being available for Sunday's season opener against the Bears. If he plays, Brooks is expected to split backfield work with Chuba Hubbard, rendering both little more than low-end RB2 fantasy options until one is able to separate from the other atop the depth chart.

  • Raiders' Ashton Jeanty: Will practice Wednesday

Coach Klint Kubiak said Jeanty (ankle) will practice Wednesday, Ryan McFadden of ESPN.com reports.

Jeanty has been sidelined since suffering a low-ankle sprain Aug. 23, but Kubiak expressed optimism last week that his star running back will be available for Week 1. Getting on the practice field Wednesday would be a strong sign that Jeanty will be able to suit up Sunday versus Miami.

  • Malik Nabers WR | NYG

Giants' Malik Nabers: Going through drills Wednesday

Nabers (knee) participated in drills at Wednesday's practice, Connor Hughes of SNY.tv reports.

Nabers was first in line to go through wideout drills, according to Hughes, and it appears he's ready to go for Sunday night's Week 1 opener against Dallas. It's unclear if Nabers will play his full snap allotment against the Cowboys, so Nabers is looking more like a fantasy WR2 with obvious upside in what would be his first game back from a torn ACL.

  • Tucker Kraft TE | GB

Packers' Tucker Kraft: In full pads Wednesday

Kraft (knee) is in full pads at Wednesday's practice, Matt Schneidman of The Athletic reports.

Kraft has been in full pads at practice for weeks and appears ready to go for Sunday's Week 1 opener against the Vikings. He's insisted he's ready and doesn't need to be on a snap count, but it will be something to watch Sunday in Kraft's first game back from a torn ACL. Even if he's somewhat limited, Kraft is a locked-in fantasy TE1.

  • Zay Flowers WR | BAL

Ravens' Zay Flowers: Works off to side Wednesday

Flowers (lower body) was working off to the side with a trainer during Wednesday's practice, Brian Wacker of The Baltimore Sun reports.

After appearing to participate fully Tuesday, Flowers' side work Wednesday suggests Baltimore could be managing his reps heading into Week 1. His official participation level on the Ravens' injury report will provide the clearest read on his availability for Sunday's game at Indianapolis, but there's been no indication Flowers is in any danger of missing the season opener.

  • Tee Higgins WR | CIN

Bengals' Tee Higgins: On track for Week 1

Coach Zac Taylor said Wednesday he "feels good" about Higgins' (heel) chances of playing Sunday against Tampa Bay, Jay Morrison of SI.com reports.

Higgins has been dealing with a bruised heel, but there's been nothing to suggest he's in any real danger of missing Week 1. As is the case most weeks, Higgins is a fantasy WR2 with WR1 upside in the Bengals' elite passing offense.

  • Ja'Marr Chase WR | CIN

Bengals' Ja'Marr Chase: Trending toward playing Week 1

Coach Zac Taylor said Wednesday he "feels good" about Chase (knee) playing Sunday against the Bucs, Jay Morrison of SI.com reports.

Chase limped off the field late last month with a left knee injury, but there's been nothing to suggest he's in any real danger of missing the season opener versus Tampa Bay. In a potential shootout with the Bucs, Chase is looking like the premier wide receiver play on the board for Week 1 in fantasy.

  • Chris Bell WR | MIA

Dolphins' Chris Bell: No 'pitch count' for Week 1

Dolphins head coach Jeff Hafley said that Bell won't be on a "pitch count" in terms of snaps in Sunday's season opener versus the Raiders, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.

Despite not practicing with the Dolphins until Aug. 17 after completing his recovery from the ACL tear he sustained in November, Bell assuaged any concerns about his health and conditioning over the final two weeks of training camp and during his lone appearance in the preseason. The Dolphins are seemingly preparing for the rookie third-round pick to handle a vital role in the passing game right off the bat, as he's listed as one of three starting wide receivers on the team's unofficial depth chart heading into Week 1, per David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel. Though Miami is expected to be one of the league's lower-volume passing attacks, Bell won't be facing much in the way of established competition for targets. He'll be part of a new-look receiver room that includes third-year player Malik Washington and fellow rookie Caleb Douglas as starters after Miami moved on from both Tyreek Hill (knee) and Jaylen Waddle in the offseason.

  • LeQuint Allen RB | JAC

Jaguars' LeQuint Allen: Idle for Wednesday's practice

Allen was present for Wednesday's practice but was a non-participant due to a hip injury, Ryan O'Halloran of The Florida Times-Union reports.

Per Michael DiRocco of ESPN.com, Allen wasn't wearing pads during the portion of the session that was open to the media, so he appears to have been limited to rehab work during the Jaguars' first official practice of the regular season. Earlier Wednesday, head coach Liam Coen suggested that Allen was trending toward a game-time decision for Sunday's season opener versus the Browns. The 22-year-old running back will likely need to upgrade to full practice participation by Friday to have a realistic shot at playing this weekend.

  • Jakobi Meyers WR | JAC

Jaguars' Jakobi Meyers: Not taking contact Wednesday

Meyers (hand) was spotted practicing Wednesday while wearing a non-contact jersey, Ryan O'Halloran of The Florida Times-Union reports.

The extent of Meyers' practice participation won't be revealed until the Jaguars post their first injury report of the season following Wednesday's session, but the fact that the wideout was donning a non-contact jersey suggests that he'll likely be listed as a limited participant. Meyers jammed his right hand in a joint practice with the Panthers three weeks ago, but the Jaguars haven't yet indicated that the receiver's availability for Sunday's season opener versus the Browns is in serious jeopardy.
