  • Steelers' Mason McCormick: Participates in OTAs

McCormick (hand) was an active participant during Pittsburgh's OTAs on Tuesday. McCormick sat out the team's wild-card loss versus the Ravens last season with a broken hand but is healthy again. He should be in line to serve as the Steelers' starting right guard during the upcoming campaign.

  • Steelers' Mason McCormick: Won't play against Baltimore

McCormick (hand) is inactive for Saturday's wild-card game against the Ravens, Teresa Varley of the Steelers' official site reports. McCormick broke his left hand during the Steelers' Week 18 loss to the Bengals. He was limited in practice all week, and the injury is too severe for him to play Saturday. Spencer Anderson is the top candidate to start at right guard due to McCormick's injury.

  • Steelers' Mason McCormick: Questionable for wild-card matchup

McCormick (hand) is questionable for Saturday's wild-card game against the Ravens, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports. McCormick suffered a hand injury in the team's regular-season finale against the Bengals, logging three limited practices with the Steelers this week. If he is ultimately ruled out, Spencer Anderson would likely draw the start at right guard against Baltimore.

  • Steelers' Mason McCormick: Working to play Saturday

McCormick (hand) said Tuesday his fracture is feeling better and that his status for Saturday's wild-card playoff matchup against the Ravens will come down to how much he's able to do in practice, Ray Fittipaldo of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reports. McCormick's practice activity, or lack thereof, will likely determine whether he's able to play with a brace on his broken left hand during Saturday's playoff contest. In the event that McCormick were to miss any time, Spencer Anderson and Max Scharping would be candidates to fill in at guard.

  • Steelers' Mason McCormick: Injures hand versus Cincinnati

McCormick suffered a hand injury in Saturday night's loss to the Bengals, Brooke Pryor of ESPN.com reports. McCormick started the Steelers' final 13 contests at right guard, but the severity of his hand injury isn't yet known, leaving his status for next weekend's playoff opener in question. Spencer Anderson and Max Scharping are next in line for snaps at guard if McCormick's injury proves serious.

  • Steelers' Mason McCormick: Added to O-Line in Steel City

The Steelers selected McCormick in the fourth round of the 2024 NFL Draft, 119th overall. McCormick is the third offensive lineman selected by the Steelers in the first four rounds of the draft. Restocking the trenches is a clear priority in Pittsburgh this year and McCormick helps to that end. The South Dakota State Jackrabbit tested as a standout athlete at the combine, showing that he can make the leap to the league even coming from a smaller school. He's remarkably experienced for a rookie as well with 70 games and 57 starts under his belt, though SDSU was often making deep runs in the FCS postseason to boost those numbers. McCormick will be a 24-year-old rookie, but that signals that he's more of a pro-ready than developmental prospect.
