Allgeier could open the regular season as the Cardinals' primary running back, as Adam Schefter of ESPN reports that Jeremiyah Love sustained a high-ankle sprain in Thursday's preseason win over the Raiders.

The Cardinals are hoping that Love will recover in time to suit up for the regular-season opener against the Chargers on Sunday, Sept. 13, but the rookie third overall pick almost certainly won't play again during the preseason and could miss regular-season action as well since he faces a multi-week recovery timeline with less than a month to go until the season. If Love is sidelined or limited to begin the regular season, Allgeier would be in line to get the majority of backfield opportunities for the Cardinals, though James Conner (foot) or Trey Benson (knee) also could enter the mix if they recover from their respective injuries.

Foster caught five of seven targets for 36 yards and a touchdown in Saturday's 17-7 preseason loss to the Cowboys, building on what has been a strong performance in training camp, John Boyle of the Seahawks' official site reports.

Foster had a five-yard touchdown catch and almost added a 68-yard touchdown to his stat line Saturday, but Drew Lock overthrew to an open Foster down the sideline in a game during which the Seahawks rested most of their starters. Foster's strong preseason debut could help him in his quest to secure a depth role in a Seattle wide receiver room that also includes Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Rashid Shaheed, Cooper Kupp, Tory Horton, Jake Bobo and Emmanuel Henderson. The 25-year-old Foster will look to keep building momentum in Seattle's second preseason game against the Titans on Aug. 23.

Head coach Shane Steichen said Sunday that he doesn't expect Pierce (ankle) to return during joint practices leading up to the Colts' second preseason game against the Falcons on Saturday, so Pierce will have missed all of training camp, James Boyd of The Athletic reports.

The Colts' expectation has been that Pierce will recover in time to face the Ravens in the Sept. 13 regular-season opener, but Pierce's recovery from April surgery on his left ankle has limited him to individual work up until this point, and he's still at least a week away from ramping up to full practice participation. Josh Downs, Ashton Dulin and Nick Westbrook-Ikhine are the top healthy options in the Colts' wide receiver room.

Trapilo (knee) was activated from the active/PUP list and returned to practice with the Bears on Sunday, Dan Wiederer of the Chicago Tribune reports.

Trapilo suffered a patellar injury in January against the Packers, and he opened camp on the active/PUP list but has now returned to action. The offensive lineman will now shift his focus to potentially appearing in a contest before the end of the preseason.

Locke (knee) was active for the Cowboys' 17-7 preseason victory over Seattle on Saturday.

Locke has been dealing with a knee injury during training camp, but he was able to play in the preseason opener. The safety was on the field for seven defensive snaps, and he didn't record any stats. Locke is expected to serve as a top reserve option behind Malik Hooker and Jalen Thompson this season, and his next opportunity to play will come Saturday on the road against Arizona.

Miller and the Cowboys agreed to terms on a contract Sunday, Tommy Yarish of the team's official site reports.

Per Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com, Miller's deal in Dallas is for one year. Miller is a Texas native and will get a chance to play professionally in his home state in the twilight of his illustrious career. The eight-time Pro Bowler hasn't earned that distinction since 2019, but he showed he can still rush the passer effectively in a part-time role by picking up 9.0 sacks for the Commanders in 2025, which was his age-36 season.

Miller spent the 2025 regular season with the Commanders and recorded 9.0 sacks in 17 games while playing 36.9 percent of defensive snaps. He has 138.5 career regular-season sacks in 203 games. Once Miller's deal with Dallas becomes official, he likely will slide in as a rotational pass rusher for the Cowboys.

Cornelius (knee) was active for the Cowboys' 17-7 preseason win over Seattle on Saturday.

Cornelius finished the 2025 season on injured reserve with Dallas while nursing a knee injury, but he now appears to be fully healthy. The offensive lineman played 68 percent of the team's offensive snaps in the victory, and he'll continue to compete for a spot on the Cowboys' initial 53-man roster.

Clark (ankle) recorded one tackle in the Cowboys' 17-7 preseason win over the Seahawks on Saturday.

Clark had been dealing with an ankle injury at training camp, but he was able to play 80 percent of the team's defensive snaps in the contest. The 23-year-old is competing for a reserve spot in the secondary with Dallas this season, and his next chance to prove himself will come Saturday in Arizona.

Wilson (hamstring) sat out Saturday's preseason opener against the Cowboys, Gregg Bell of the Tacoma News Tribune reports.

Wilson is managing what is believed to be a short-term hamstring injury. Both Wilson and Jadarian Price (lower body) are expected to be available for the start of the regular season, which may not be the case for Zach Charbonnet (knee). Even if Charbonnet isn't ready to begin the season, Wilson appears likely to cede the majority of backfield opportunities to George Holani and Price. Wilson's next chance to see preseason action will be Sunday, Aug. 23 at Tennessee.
