Aaron Donald DE | LAR
Rams' Aaron Donald: Vague about status for season opener
Donald stated only "we're taking it day by day" when asked Monday if he'll travel to Australia and/or play in the Rams' season opener against San Francisco on Thursday, Vincent Bonsignore of the California Post reports.
Previous reports indicated that Donald would at least travel to Australia, but it's uncertain if that's still the case. Donald didn't officially unretire until Aug. 30, so he may not be fully ready to return to NFL action after logging his most recent snap during the 2023 season. Even if he does travel and suit up, Donald may be given a reduced workload as he eases his way back from a lengthy hiatus.

Gary Jennings: Cut from LAC's practice squad
The Chargers cut Jennings from the practice squad Monday, Kris Rhim of ESPN.com reports.

Commanders' Odafe Oweh: Participates in walkthrough
Oweh (calf) took part in the Commanders' walk-through session Monday, JP Finlay of NBC Sports Washington reports.
The linebacker has been nursing the calf issue since mid-August. Now that he has returned to some on-field work, he may have a chance to play in the team's season opener against Philadelphia on Sunday. Oweh signed a four-year, $96-million contract with the Commanders in the offseason.

Ollie Gordon II RB | MIA
Dolphins' Ollie Gordon: Ditches non-contact jersey
Gordon (ribs) was able to practice with contact in Monday's practice, David Furones of the South Florida Sun Sentinel reports.
Gordon has finally returned to practice without the non-contact jersey. The running back may be ready to go for Miami's Week 1 matchup with the Raiders on Sunday, but he could be held out as a precaution. The second-year pro is set to serve as the No. 3 option behind De'Von Achane and Jaylen Wright, meaning the Dolphins arguably have the luxury of giving Gordon an extra week to recover if necessary.

Joshua Simon TE | ATL
Joshua Simon: Let go from practice squad
Simon was cut from the Commanders' practice squad Monday, Nicki Jhabvala of The Athletic reports.
The tight end was let go to make room for wide receiver Van Jefferson. Simon signed with Washington's practice squad last week. The 2024 undrafted free-agent signing spent the 2025 campaign on the Falcons' practice squad but has yet to appear in an NFL regular-season game.

Kacmarek (undisclosed) was a full participant in Monday's practice, C. Isaiah Smalls II of the Miami Herald reports.
Kacmarek was considered week-to-week after the Dolphins' final preseason game against the Falcons on Aug. 28. The tight end has recovered from his undisclosed issue quickly and is back in action just in time for the team's Week 1 matchup with the Raiders.

Sam Okuayinonu DT | SF
49ers' Sam Okuayinonu: Will undergo foot surgery
Okuayinonu broke his foot in practice last week and is set to have surgery to repair the issue, Matt Barrows of The Athletic reports.
Head coach Kyle Shanahan said Monday he hopes Okuayinonu can return near the end of the regular season, but it is unclear quite how long the recovery process will take. Okuayinonu previously had a plate in his foot, and the break occurred when it was stepped on during practice.

Van Jefferson WR | WAS
Van Jefferson: Returning to Washington
Jefferson signed with the Commanders' practice squad Monday, Jeremy Fowler of ESPN.com reports.
The wide receiver was released by Washington on Aug. 30. Jefferson has 166 career regular-season catches for 2,226 yards and 13 touchdowns across six different NFL campaigns. In Washington, he joins a receiver room that thins out significantly after veterans Terry McLaurin and Stefon Diggs.

Jessie Bates III FS | ATL
Falcons' Jessie Bates: Practices in full on Monday
Bates (back) was a full participant in Monday's practice, Daniel Flick of The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports.
Bates dealt with a lingering back injury throughout training camp. The safety has managed to practice in full through the issue multiple times and is all set to play in the Falcons' Week 1 game against the Steelers.

Darius Slayton WR | IND
Darius Slayton: Cut loose by Giants
The Giants released Slayton on Monday, Matt Zenitz of CBS Sports reports.
In the wake of Slayton getting cut, New York boasts a receiving corps led by Malik Nabers (knee) and supplemented by Darnell Mooney, Malachi Fields and Odell Beckham. Considering the group is only four deep ahead of Week 1, it wouldn't be a surprise if Monday's move is merely procedural, and Slayton could be back on the Giants' practice squad, from which he would be allowed to get elevated a maximum of three times on game days.
