A third-rounder out of Ohio State, Kacmarek will compete for playing time this preseason with the Dolphins. It's not expected that he'll be a factor in Fantasy. Kacmarek caught 65 passes in five seasons (three with Ohio before transferring) and profiles far more as a reliable blocker than a pass-catcher, though he does have clean hands (zero drops). Kacmarek will matter more to the Dolphins than he will to Fantasy managers.

Kacmarek (undisclosed) was a full participant in Monday's practice, C. Isaiah Smalls II of the Miami Herald reports.
Kacmarek was considered week-to-week after the Dolphins' final preseason game against the Falcons on Aug. 28. The tight end has recovered from his undisclosed issue quickly and is back in action just in time for the team's Week 1 matchup with the Raiders.

Kacmarek did not play in Friday night's preseason finale against the Falcons. The rookie third-rounder played in the first two preseason games for the Dolphins, catching his sole target for three yards. The tight end is set to be the No. 2 option behind Greg Dulcich once the former regains his health.

The Dolphins selected Kacmarek in the third round of the 2026 NFL Draft, 87th overall.
In a Day 2 where several teams made dubious tight end selections, the Dolphins probably made one of the better ones. Kacmarek (6-foot-6, 261 pounds) is potentially an AJ Barner type out of Ohio State, or at worst an Adam Trautman. Kacmarek is a rugged blocker who can amplify the run game, and he has enough athleticism to hurt the defense if they don't defend him honestly as a potential pass catcher (4.74-second 40, 36-inch vertical jump). Kacmarek is unlikely to be a fantasy factor, but don't be surprised if he's in frame, driving some defender backward on a lot of De'Von Achane's big plays.
