  Pietrangelo will be stepping away from the game of hockey indefinitely to recover from serious hip injuries, the team announced Monday. Pietrangelo has enjoyed a wonderful career up to this point, playing over 1,000 games in the NHL and winning two Stanley Cup championships, but his future is very much up in the air after the news of his injuries. At minimum, he'll likely miss the entirety of the 2025-26 season, but it remains to be seen if he'll be able to return at all moving forward. If this is it for the 35-year-old, he'll finish his career with 148 goals and 489 assists with a plus-123 rating in 1,087 career regular-season games, and he added 80 points in 149 playoff contests. He currently has two years remaining on his contract that carries an $8.8 million cap hit per season.

  Pietrangelo logged an assist in Saturday's 4-3 win over the Oilers in Game 3. Pietrangelo helped out on William Karlsson's second-period tally in the contest. With three points over two games since he returned from an illness, Pietrangelo hasn't missed a beat. He's at six points, 11 shots on net, 18 blocked shots, seven hits and a plus-1 rating over eight playoff appearances. Despite being listed on the third pairing, the 35-year-old functions as a top-four defenseman for the Golden Knights.

  Pietrangelo scored a goal on two shots, added an assist, blocked two shots and went minus-2 in Thursday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Oilers in Game 2. Pietrangelo's third-period tally forced overtime, but the Golden Knights weren't able to complete the comeback. He missed the opening game of the second round due to an illness, but he's apparently fine now after logging 25:38 of ice time Thursday. The defenseman has five points, 11 shots on net, six hits, 17 blocked shots and an even plus-minus rating over seven playoff outings.

  Pietrangelo (illness) is good to draw back into the lineup against Edmonton for Game 2 on Thursday, according to Jesse Granger of The Athletic. Pietrangelo missed Tuesday's 4-2 loss to Edmonton because of the illness. He has a goal and three points across six playoff appearances this year. Kaedan Korczak is expected to be a healthy scratch due to Pietrangelo's return.

  Pietrangelo (illness) is considered a game-time decision for Thursday's Game 2 against Edmonton, Jesse Granger of The Athletic reports. The 35-year-old was on the ice for Thursday's morning skate, and head coach Bruce Cassidy said afterward that Pietrangelo has a chance to play in Game 2. However, the Golden Knights will monitor Pietrangelo in the hours leading up to puck drop before determining his status. Over his six appearances in the team's first-round series against the Wild, he logged a goal, two assists, 15 blocked shots, six hits and a plus-2 rating while averaging 22:30 of ice time.
