Verhaeghe scored a goal on six shots, dished a power-play assist and added two PIM in Monday's 5-2 win over the Sabres. Verhaeghe is up to a seven-game point streak, a quick turnaround after he was held scoreless in the first four contests of the season. The 29-year-old's multi-point effort Monday was his first of the year. He's collected two goals, six assists, 45 shots on net, 15 hits, 12 PIM and a minus-3 rating. Verhaeghe should see steady top-six minutes moving forward, and with the Panthers' forward group near full strength after some early injuries, he should continue to enjoy productivity from his linemates.

Verhaeghe scored the game-winning goal in Thursday's 3-1 win over the Rangers. The Panthers ambushed Igor Shesterkin with two goals in the first three minutes of the first period, with Anton Lundell getting the other, and it was all the support Sergei Bobrovsky would need. Verhaeghe's tally was his first of the season, and it extended his point streak to five games after he was held off the scoresheet in Florida's first four contests.

Verhaeghe notched an assist, five shots on goal and two hits in Tuesday's 5-1 loss to the Wild. Verhaeghe has a helper in four straight contests after starting the year on a four-game skid. The winger's goose egg in the goal column is bound to crack eventually as well -- he's racked up 28 shots on net without bending the twine. Verhaeghe also has 14 hits and a minus-8 rating over eight appearances in a top-six role.

Verhaeghe signed an eight-year, $56 million contract extension with the Panthers on Tuesday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports. Verhaeghe is committed to the Panthers through the 2032-33 season with this new deal. The 29-year-old was one of seven Panthers skaters to fail to register a point in Tuesday's 6-4 season-opening win over the Bruins. Verhaeghe will likely fill a top-six role for a majority of his new deal, giving him significant fantasy value in formats that reward scoring. He has topped the 70-point mark in each of the last two years.

Verhaeghe scored a goal on three shots, added an assist, blocked two shots and went plus-2 in Monday's 2-1 win over the Oilers in Game 7. Verhaeghe didn't do much in the Stanley Cup Finals, but he saved his best effort of the series for the last game. He posted four points over seven contests versus the Oilers and finished the postseason at 11 goals, 10 assists, 79 shots on net, 27 hits, 14 blocked shots and a minus-5 rating through 24 appearances. Verhaeghe is entering a contract year in 2024-25, as it's the final season of his three-year extension from 2021.
