  Barber has cleared waivers and will start the season in the AHL, per the Dallas Stars website. Barber played four games for the Red Wings last season with nary a point and excelled at the AHL level with 28 goals and 53 points in 49 contests.

  The Stars waived Barber on Friday, per CapFriendly. Barber should spend most of the 2022-23 campaign with AHL Texas. He scored 28 goals and 53 points in 49 games with AHL Grand Rapids last year and has just 16 games of NHL experience since the start of the 2016-17 season.

  Barber put pen to paper on a one-year, two-way deal with Dallas on Thursday. Barber has logged just 16 games at the NHL level for the Capitals, Canadiens and Red Wings without having registered a point yet. As such, the 28-year-old winger should probably be expected to spend the bulk of the upcoming season in the minors, though he could get the occasional call-up.

When on the roster, the 28-year-old winger has served primarily as a healthy scratch watching from the press box, though he has appeared in four games for the club in which he has recorded four shots, three hits and two PIM.
