Montour agreed to terms on a seven-year, $49.98 million contract with Seattle on Monday, Elliotte Friedman of Sportsnet reports. Montour was reportedly linked to a move to Utah before the team traded for Mikhail Sergachev on Saturday. Still, the 30-year-old Montour was able to cash in with a long-term deal, one that could be the last of his career. Injuries limited the Ontario native to just 66 regular-season games this past year, in which he generated 33 points, but he was a mainstay in the lineup during the postseason. In the playoffs, Montour averaged 22:39 of ice time, playing in all 24 games while tallying 11 points, including three with the man advantage.

Montour notched an assist in Tuesday's 5-3 loss to the Oilers in Game 5. Montour has managed three helpers with a minus-3 rating over his last eight games. The 30-year-old defenseman set up an Evan Rodrigues tally in the second period of Tuesday's loss. Montour is at 11 points, 47 shots on net, 47 hits, 32 blocked shots and an even plus-minus rating through 22 playoff appearances in a top-four role.

Montour notched a helper on the game-winning goal in overtime in Tuesday's 3-2 win over New York in Game 4. Montour had the secondary assist on Sam Reinhart's game-winner in overtime to help tie the series. Montour was held off the scoresheet in six consecutive contests prior to getting on the board in Tuesday's win. He added four shots, six hits and a minus-1 rating in 23:50 of ice time, which was the most of any skater in the game. The 30-year-old defenseman has been streaky during the playoffs -- seven of his nine points have come in three outings combined. Montour is up to three goals, six assists and a plus-2 rating in 15 postseason appearances so far.

Montour registered a goal and an assist in Friday's 6-2 road victory over the Bruins. Montour is on a heater right now -- he's racked up five points (two goals) over the last two games. He scored on the power play early in the third period to put the Panthers up by four. The 30-year-old added an assist on Sam Reinhart's empty-net tally to help seal the game. Overall this postseason, Montour has three goals and five assists in eight games. The pending unrestricted free agent will look to keep it rolling in Game 4 on Sunday.
