Blackwood is expected to start on the road against Dallas on Wednesday, according to Curtis Pashelka of The San Jose Mercury News. Blackwood has a 4-5-3 record, 3.07 GAA and .908 save percentage in 12 appearances this season. He stopped just 16 of 20 shots in his last start Monday, but he got plenty of offensive support, resulting in a 5-4 overtime victory over Detroit. Dallas has an 11-6-0 record and ranks 12th in scoring with 3.29 goals per game.

Blackwood stopped 16 of 20 shots in Monday's 5-4 overtime win over the Red Wings. This was far from Blackwood's best performance, but it was enough to give him his first win since Nov. 10, when he recorded a 44-save shutout against the Devils. On the season, Blackwood has gone 4-5-3 across 12 appearances, posting a 3.07 GAA and a .908 save percentage.

Blackwood was the first goalie off the ice Monday, Max Miller of NHL.com reports, indicating he'll patrol the home crease versus Detroit. Blackwood has been seeing the majority of the workload ahead of Vitek Vanecek (undisclosed) but could be in danger of losing starts to Yaroslav Askarov, who was called up from AHL San Jose in light of Vanecek's injury. The 27-year-old Blackwood is struggling for wins, posting a 3-5-3 record to go with a 2.98 GAA, a 914 save percentage and one shutout in 11 outings.

Blackwood stopped 25 of 26 shots in regulation and overtime after replacing Vitek Vanecek (undisclosed) to begin the second period of Saturday's 4-3 shootout loss to the Penguins. He stopped only two of Pittsburgh's five shootout attempts, sticking Blackwood with the overtime loss. The 27-year-old hasn't given up more than three goals in any of his last five appearances, going 2-2-1 over that stretch with a 1.92 GAA and .944 save percentage. If Vanecek's injury proves to be serious, it may not result in a big increase in Blackwood's workload, as San Jose would likely dole out a healthy share of playing time to top prospect Yaroslav Askarov.

Blackwood turned aside 32 shots in Thursday's 3-2 loss to the Rangers. The 27-year-old netminder kept his team in the game with some big saves, but the Sharks' offense came up short. Blackwood has given up three goals or less in six of his last seven starts, posting an impressive 2.48 GAA and .925 save percentage over that stretch, but he has just a 3-4-0 record to show for it.
