  • Stecher (ankle) was on the ice Monday with his Edmonton teammates for an informal skate ahead of training camp, Tom Gazzola of Edmonton Sports Talk reports. Following offseason ankle surgery, Stecher should be ready to compete for a depth spot with the Oilers during camp. The 30-year-old defender recorded one goal, seven points, 51 shots on net and 77 blocked shots in 54 regular-season appearances between Arizona and Edmonton in 2023-24, though his ankle injury prevented him from playing in the postseason.

Once healthy, he'll provide the Oilers with some depth on the blue line.
