  Jarvis inked an eight-year, $63.2 million contract with the Hurricanes on Saturday. The 22-year-old forward had a career-best 33 goals and 34 assists in 81 regular-season games with the Hurricanes last season. He continued his outstanding play in the playoffs with five goals and nine points in 11 appearances. Jarvis will start the season on the top line, alongside Sebastian Aho and Andrei Svechnikov, as well as the first power-play unit and could hit the 80-point mark in 2024-25.

  Jarvis scored a goal on three shots in Sunday's 4-3 loss to the Rangers in Game 1. Jarvis' tally came with 1:45 left in the third period, but the Hurricanes were unable to find an equalizer. The 22-year-old helped set up Carolina's first two tallies as the team grabbed a 2-0 lead inside the first four minutes of the first period. Jarvis then iced things late with an empty-netter. He piled up three goals and seven points in five games against the Isles, giving him plenty of momentum heading into the Hurricanes' second-round clash with the Rangers.
