Ersson did what he could to keep the Flyers in the game, including stopping three shots during the shootout, but he was ultimately tagged with the loss. The 26-year-old has won only two of his past five starts, going 2-2-1 with a 2.54 GAA and an .897 save percentage in that span. He has posted a save percentage below the .900 mark in his past two starts.

Ersson led the Flyers out for warmups and will get the start Sunday against the Avalanche, Adam Kimelman of NHL.com reports. Ersson will reach double-digit appearances with Sunday's start. Through his first nine appearances, the 26-year-old is 5-2-2 with a 2.97 GAA and an .869 save percentage. He has won two straight starts, stopping 55 of 60 shots on goal in those outings. It will be difficult to extend that winning streak against the first-place Avalanche, who lead the NHL with 4.00 goals per game.

Ersson stopped 28 of 31 shots in Friday's 4-3 shootout win over the Islanders. Ersson has avoided defeat in regulation in three of his last four starts. However, that record doesn't tell the whole story, as the 26-year-old netminder has also posted a save percentage of .890 or lower in three of those outings. As such, and considering he's entrenched in a backup role, it's hard to trust Ersson in fantasy going forward.
