Kochetkov turned aside all 32 shots he faced in Tuesday's 4-0 win over the Islanders. It was the first shutout of the season for the 25-year-old netminder and the ninth of his NHL career. Kochetkov has started six of Carolina's seven games to begin December, going 3-3-0 with a 2.58 GAA and .899 save percentage, and he'll be firmly entrenched at the top of the depth chart until Frederik Andersen is ready to return from knee surgery.

Kochetkov will guard the home goal versus the Senators on Friday, Chip Alexander of The Raleigh News & Observer reports. Kochetkov will look to win consecutive games for the first time since Nov. 17 and 20. The 25-year-old has gone 2-2-0 with 13 goals allowed on 95 shots over his last four outings. The Senators have scored 21 goals over their last seven games, going 4-2-1 in that span.

Kochetkov stopped 21 shots in Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Sharks. He gave up tallies to Luke Kunin in the first and second periods, but Kochetkov shut the door in the third as Carolina rallied from a one-goal deficit. The 25-year-old netminder has alternated wins and losses over four starts since returning from a concussion, and on the season he's 12-4-0 over 17 appearances with a 2.64 GAA and .894 save percentage. With Frederik Andersen (knee) not expected back until some time in February, Kochetkov should continue to see a heavy workload.

Kochetkov made 16 saves in Thursday's 5-3 win over the Avalanche. Artturi Lehkonen opened the scoring midway through the first period, but the Hurricanes took control of the game in the middle frame, and Kochetkov never relinquished the lead. It was the 25-year-old netminder's first win since Nov. 20, and in two starts since returning from a concussion, Kochetkov has given up seven goals on only 47 shots (.851 save percentage). With Frederik Andersen on the shelf after knee surgery and lacking a clear return date, Carolina may have to give the recently signed Dustin Tokarski more work than the team intended if Kochetkov doesn't regain his form quickly.

Kochetkov is expected to start at home against Colorado on Thursday, per Chip Alexander of The Raleigh News & Observer. Kochetkov has a 10-3-0 record, 2.55 GAA and .900 save percentage across 14 outings in 2024-25. He missed four straight games due to a concussion but returned Tuesday, stopping 24 of 28 shots en route to a 4-2 loss to Seattle. The Avalanche are a difficult adversary, ranking 10th in goals per game with 3.27.
