  • Makar logged a power-play assist, two shots on goal and three blocked shots in Friday's 2-1 double-overtime loss to the Stars in Game 6. Makar finished the postseason with five goals, 10 assists, 36 shots on net and 23 blocks over 11 contests. The 25-year-old defenseman also had a career-high 90 points in 77 regular-season outings. Makar's brilliance on the blue line remains elite, and he's a finalist for the Norris Trophy once again after a stellar campaign. Makar should continue to be a top-three fantasy defenseman in 2024-25 with an Avalanche team that will have its core intact despite going into the offseason with nine pending unrestricted free agents among the team's skaters.

  • Makar logged an assist, two shots on goal, two blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in Tuesday's 6-3 win over the Jets in Game 5. Makar was briefly rattled by a hit in the third period, but he was able to finish the contest. The 25-year-old defenseman had two goals, seven assists, 16 shots on net, 12 blocked shots and a plus-3 rating over five games in the first round. Makar will have a little time to rest before the Avalanche play again -- they have to wait for the conclusion of the Stars-Golden Knights series.

  • Makar scored a goal on three shots and picked up an assist in Sunday's 5-1 Game 4 win over the Jets. Makar has points in six straight games, racking up a combined three goals and eight assists, including five power-play points. During the regular season, the defenseman notched a career-high 90 points but still finished second behind Quinn Hughes for the NHL lead among blueliners. If the Avalanche make a deep run into the postseason, Makar could be in contention for the Conn Smythe trophy, especially if he continues to produce at this level.
