  • Poehling scored his first goal of the season in Wednesday's 4-1 loss to the Hurricanes. The 25-year-old center used a partial screen from a Carolina defender to sneak a shot past Pyotr Kochetkov early in the second period. Poehling's checking-line role gives him little fantasy appeal, but he is on pace for a career-best season with seven points through 17 appearances.

  • Poehling (personal) was placed on injured reserve Wednesday retroactive to Nov. 2. With his IR designation, Poehling will not be available versus the Lightning on Thursday for sure, though it could certainly be longer. While the 25-year-old center has yet to find the back of the net in 12 appearances, he has picked up five assists to open the season. In a corresponding move, the Flyers recalled Anthony Richard from AHL Lehigh Valley in order to fill out the lineup.

    By RotoWire

Poehling (personal) won't play Tuesday versus Carolina and did not accompany the Flyers for the team's three-game road trip, per Charlie O'Connor of PHLY Sports. Poehling is a little banged up, and he's dealing with a family situation. As a result, it's unclear when he will be ready to return. Poehling has five assists, eight shots on goal, 20 blocked shots and seven hits through 12 outings this season. He will be replaced in Tuesday's lineup by Nicolas Deslauriers.

  • Poehling notched an assist, three shots on goal and two blocked shots in Sunday's 4-3 loss to the Canadiens. The defensive center got on the scoresheet for the first time in five games with this helper. Poehling's work rate in his own zone keeps him in the lineup, and he doesn't have to score to keep head coach John Tortorella happy. Poehling is at four helpers, six shots on net, six hits, 16 blocked shots and an even plus-minus rating through nine appearances in a bottom-six role.
