Skinner made 18 saves in a 4-3 overtime loss to Toronto on Saturday. Skinner is best deployed with a big container of antacids. His game has been up and down (mostly down, it feels like), and his stat line of a 5-5-2 record, 3.28 GAA and .877 save percentage have hung like an anchor around most fantasy managers. Skinner found his groove last season after a horrendous start, so there's always hope. Hope's a crummy strategy, though. At some point, you are going to need to determine if you can live through a Skinner see-saw or not.

Skinner will get the start Saturday on the road against Toronto, Tony Brar of Oilers TV reports. Skinner is 3-1-0 in his last four starts despite posting a mediocre .897 save percentage over that span. The 26-year-old netminder is 5-5-1 with an .881 save percentage and a 3.22 GAA on the season.

Skinner stopped 19 of 22 shots in Tuesday's 4-3 overtime win over the Islanders. Skinner allowed three goals for the third start in a row, but he's won two of those efforts. He nearly had this one in regulation, but the Islanders overcame a 3-1 deficit in the third period to force overtime. Skinner improved to 5-5-1, but his 3.22 GAA and .881 save percentage haven't inspired a lot of confidence in his play. He's yet to start four consecutive games, so it's unclear if he'll get the nod Thursday at home versus the Predators.

Skinner will tend the home twine versus the Islanders on Tuesday, Jason Gregor of Sports 1440 Edmonton reports. Skinner made 17 saves on 20 shots in a 7-3 win over Vancouver in his last start. The 26-year-old has been inconsistent through the early portion of the campaign, and over his last six appearances, he's alternated wins and losses. The 6-foot-4 netminder has posted a 4-5-1 record, .883 save percentage, 3.25 GAA and one shutout through 10 appearances. Skinner will face an Islanders squad that ranks 28th in the league with 2.47 goals per game over 15 contests.

Skinner allowed three goals on 20 shots in Saturday's 7-3 win over the Canucks. Skinner didn't perform well, but the Oilers' offense put up a season-high seven goals to lift him to victory. The 26-year-old goaltender has three wins in his last five outings, but he's allowed 14 goals in that span. He's 4-5-1 with a 3.25 GAA and an .883 save percentage over 10 starts. Skinner started consecutive games for the first time since a stretch of three straight outings from Oct. 19-25, but a pair of back-to-back sets in that span likely led to an increased workload for Calvin Pickard. The Oilers don't have any back-to-backs next week, and the team hosts the low-scoring Islanders on Tuesday.
