Walker scored a goal and went plus-2 in Thursday's 8-2 win over the Bruins. Walker scored at 7:36 of the third period, earning his first goal and point as a Hurricane. The 29-year-old defenseman signed a five-year, $18 million contract in free agency, but he's mainly seen bottom-four usage (16:19 per game) over nine appearances to begin the season. He's added 14 shots on net, 12 blocked shots, 12 PIM and a plus-4 rating. Walker had a career year in 2023-24 with 29 points over 81 regular-season outings between the Flyers and the Avalanche.

Walker agreed to terms on a one-year, two-way contract with Minnesota on Thursday. Walker has just 13 games of NHL experience under his belt over the last two seasons, including four games during the 2023-24 campaign in which he recorded zero points, three shots and two hits. While the 25-year-old winger could get the occasional call-up this upcoming season, he will likely spend the bulk of the year in the minors with AHL Iowa.

Walker signed a five-year, $18 million contract with the Hurricanes on Monday. Walker had 10 goals, 29 points, 50 PIM, 116 hits and 127 blocked shots across 81 regular-season games between Philadelphia and Colorado in 2023-24. The 29-year-old might serve in a top-four capacity with Carolina, but he probably won't get much ice time on the power play, as Brent Burns and Shayne Gostisbehere figure to handle those duties.

Walker scored a goal on three shots, blocked three shots, added two hits and logged four PIM in Sunday's 7-4 loss to the Stars. Walker flung a puck from the point and scored just 1:59 into the game. The defenseman has four goals and two assists over 14 contests since he was traded from the Flyers to the Avalanche. He's been a good fit in a bottom-four role, and it hasn't ruined his scoring pace despite losing an average of 2:15 of ice time per game with his new team. Walker is at 28 points, 144 shots on net, 108 hits, 117 blocked shots and a plus-8 rating through 77 appearances this season.

Walker notched an assist and two blocked shots during Monday's 4-1 loss to the Blue Jackets. After missing the third period of Saturday's game due to an upper-body injury, Walker remained in his regular spot on the third pairing with partner Jack Johnson. Walker added three shots on net over 16:35 of ice time. This was only the fifth point over 14 games for Walker since the beginning of March.
