Greenway exited Thursday's game versus the Lightning due to an illness, Mike Harrington of The Buffalo News reports. Greenway finished with 12:16 of ice time, but he was unable to complete the contest. With it just being an illness, there's no need for long-term concern at this time. This was his first game since he signed a two-year, $8 million deal with the Sabres on Wednesday, though his injury history makes that contract extension look like a slight overpay. He's day-to-day ahead of Saturday's game versus the Panthers.

Greenway agreed to terms on a two-year, $8 million deal with Buffalo on Wednesday, Matthew Fairburn of The Athletic reports. Greenway hasn't scored a goal since Nov. 7 versus the Rangers -- though that stretch includes only 13 appearances due to various injuries. There is little chance the 28-year-old winger will reach the 20-point mark this year, having managed just eight across 26 outings this season.

Greenway logged an assist, two shots on goal, six hits and a plus-2 rating in Saturday's 8-2 win over the Rangers. Greenway's season has been marred by injuries, but the Sabres like what he can bring in a third-line role. He adds a little depth scoring and a strong physical game. The 28-year-old is at eight points, 60 hits, 26 shots on net, 20 blocked shots and a plus-1 rating over 21 appearances this season, but as usual, the struggle is staying healthy. Greenway has been limited to 67 games or fewer in each of the last four seasons and can play in a maximum of only 48 this year due to time he's already missed, which would be his lowest total since becoming a full-time NHL option.

Greenway (undisclosed) was activated off injured reserve Saturday, per the NHL media site. Greenway, who hasn't played since Dec. 15 due to the injury, will likely serve in a middle-six capacity Saturday versus the Rangers. He has three goals, seven points, 13 PIM and 54 hits in 20 appearances in 2024-25.

Greenway (undisclosed) is "ready" to suit up versus the Rangers on Saturday, Lance Lysowski of The Buffalo News reports. Greenway has appeared in just four of the Sabres' last 37 games due to various injuries but seems to be trending in the right direction. On the year, the 28-year-old winger has registered three goals, four assists and 24 shots while dishing out 54 hits in 20 games.
