  Wolf penned a two-year, $1.7 million contract with the Flames on Tuesday, per PuckPedia. Interestingly, Wolf's deal is a two-way contract in the first year, which is a little surprising when you consider he could open the 2024-25 campaign as the No. 1 option ahead of Dan Vladar, who struggled to produce last year. For his part, the 23-year-old Wolf has just 18 games of NHL experience in which he is sporting an 8-7-1 record, 3.03 GAA and .896 save percentage. Perhaps the decision to sign Wolf to a two-way deal is an indication the team is actively looking for another NHL backstop on the trade market.

  Wolf was reassigned to AHL Calgary on Thursday. Wolf stopped 16 of 17 shots in Thursday's 5-1 win over the Sharks to even his record at 7-7-1 through 17 appearances. The 23-year-old will now help AHL Calgary's push through the Calder Cup playoffs.

Wolf stopped 30 of 35 shots in his last start Sunday in a 6-5 win over the Coyotes. The 23-year-old has been sub-par this season, recording an .891 save percentage and a 6-7-1 record in 16 appearances. He will have a favorable matchup against San Jose, which is 8-24-4 on the road this year.

Wolf is now 6-7-1 with a 3.30 GAA and an .891 save percentage through 16 appearances this season. The Flames' last two games are at Vancouver on Tuesday and at home versus the Sharks on Thursday, and it seems like a safe bet Wolf will start at least one of them.
