Golden Knights' Jack Eichel: Two tallies in loss

Eichel netted two goals on four shots in Sunday's 4-2 loss to the Rangers.

Eichel's first of two tallies came late in the first period on a Vegas power play. He's been one of the best playmakers in the NHL this season but with two goals on Sunday, he has lit the lamp seven times across his last seven games. The 28-year-old is up to 18 goals, 48 assists, a plus-26 rating and 161 shots on net through 52 appearances this season. Eichel is tied for seventh in the league with 66 points. The center is just two points away from matching his season total of 68 points in 63 appearances from a season ago. Eichel has a real chance to shatter his career best of 82 points and should continue to be an elite option in fantasy while headlining the Golden Knights' top line and power play.

  • Jack Hughes C | NJ

Devils' Jack Hughes: Pots shorty Sunday

Hughes scored a shorthanded goal on three shots and went minus-3 in Sunday's 4-3 loss to the Sabres.

Hughes was set up by linemate Jesper Bratt after Buffalo turned the puck over on the power play early in the third period, but that goal concluded the scoring in Sunday's contest. This was Hughes' first shorthanded goal of his career in his sixth NHL campaign. The 23-year-old's deployment on the penalty kill is a testament to the growth that has occurred in his game -- he rarely saw the ice in shorthanded situations over his first five seasons. Hughes is up to 21 goals, 61 points and a plus-7 rating through 54 appearances in 2024-25. The 2019 first-overall pick can extend his point streak to six games Tuesday in Pittsburgh.

  • Paul Cotter C | NJ

Devils' Paul Cotter: Scores twice in road loss

Cotter produced two even-strength goals on three shots, four hits and a plus-2 rating in 14:15 of ice time in Sunday's 4-3 loss to the Sabres.

Cotter cut the Sabres' lead to two on two separate occasions, but his efforts weren't enough to pull off the comeback in Buffalo. The 25-year-old had been held off the scoresheet in 10 consecutive games prior to Sunday. Furthermore, his last assist came against Columbus on Dec. 19, so he hasn't been much of a factor offensively after a productive first month of the season (eight points over 13 contests). He does add value in the form of hits, having racked up 180 across 54 outings. The Michigan native is at 12 goals, 18 points and a minus-7 rating in 2024-25.

  • Islanders' Casey Cizikas: Notches assist in loss

Cizikas recorded an assist, four shots on goal and three hits in Sunday's 6-3 loss to the Panthers.

Cizikas has a helper in four of the last five contests. That's one of his best stretches of the season, as the bottom-six forward has rarely been one to put up consistent scoring numbers. He's at nine points, 52 shots on net, 137 hits, 44 blocked shots and a minus-13 rating through 52 appearances.

  • Jake Evans C | MON

Canadiens' Jake Evans: Logs shorthanded helper in loss

Evans notched a shorthanded assist and two PIM in Sunday's 3-2 loss to the Ducks.

Evans has three helpers over his last seven outings. The 28-year-old's offense has run more cold than hot lately -- he had a poor January after a strong December that he's unlikely to repeat. Overall, Evans is at 26 points through 52 outings, putting him three points shy of his career high from 2021-22. He's added 52 shots on net, 70 hits, 30 blocked shots and a plus-4 rating this season. A career-best five of his points have come while shorthanded.

  • Alex Newhook C | MON

Canadiens' Alex Newhook: Nabs power-play helper in loss

Newhook notched a power-play assist and three hits in Sunday's 3-2 loss to the Ducks.

The helper was Newhook's first power-play point since Oct. 26. The 24-year-old has routinely played on the second power-play unit in addition to his even-strength role on the second line. For the season, Newhook has 14 points, 72 shots on net, 56 hits, 20 blocked shots and a minus-14 rating through 52 appearances. He's reached the 30-point mark in each of the last three campaigns, but he'll need a massive surge to get there in 2024-25.

  • Ducks' Trevor Zegras: Provides helper Sunday

Zegras notched an assist and two PIM in Sunday's 3-2 win over the Canadiens.

Zegras has four points over six outings since he returned from a knee injury. The 23-year-old received a top-line look with Frank Vatrano and Ryan Strome due to the absence of Troy Terry (illness) in this contest. For the season, Zegras has 14 points, 60 shots on net, 24 hits, 12 PIM and a minus-8 rating over 30 appearances. It's a similar pace to what he had in his injury-riddled 2023-24 (15 points in 31 games), but Zegras looks to be trending in the right direction following his latest stint on the shelf.

  • Ducks' Mason McTavish: Tallies in Sunday's win

McTavish scored a goal on two shots in Sunday's 3-2 win over the Canadiens.

McTavish had an injury scare ahead of Sunday's game, but he was able to play after missing Saturday's practice. The 22-year-old continued his scorching run in the goal column -- he has seven tallies and an assist over his last six outings. For the season, the center is up to 13 goals, 27 points, 100 shots, 43 hits, 28 PIM and a minus-4 rating through 46 appearances.

  • Shane Wright C | SEA

Kraken's Shane Wright: Extends point streak to five games

Wright posted an assist, two hits and two PIM in Sunday's 3-2 loss to the Flames.

Wright has a goal and four assists during his five-game point streak, which is the longest of his young career. The center helped out on a Brandon Tanev tally in the third period. Wright is up to 27 points, 50 shots on net, 41 hits, 38 blocked shots, 14 PIM and a plus-1 rating across 51 appearances this season. That level of offense can be helpful in deeper fantasy formats, but he's not supplementing it with enough non-scoring production.

  • Jared McCann C | SEA

Kraken's Jared McCann: Manages assist in loss

McCann notched an assist, two shots on goal and four PIM in Sunday's 3-2 loss to the Flames.

McCann set up a Brandon Tanev tally in the third period. This was McCann's third straight game with a helper, and he has five of them during his six-game goal drought. The winger is now at 41 points, 120 shots on net, 14 PIM and a plus-5 rating across 54 appearances. The success of the trio of Jaden Schwartz, Matty Beniers and Kaapo Kakko has left McCann to fill a third-line role for nearly two months, though he has been fairly steady since the holiday break with 14 points over 18 outings.
