  • Kings' Quinton Byfield: Forces overtime Saturday

Byfield scored a goal on four shots in Saturday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Blue Jackets.

Byfield picked a good time to end an eight-game goal drought, tying the contest at 2-2 with 1:05 left in the third period. He had just one assist during his scoring slump, though he's continued to see ample playing time in a top-six role. Byfield is up to 10 goals, 22 points, 87 shots on net, 40 hits and a plus-2 rating over 46 outings.

  • Marco Rossi C | VAN

Wild's Marco Rossi: Three helpers not enough in loss

Rossi recorded three assists, one on the power play, in Saturday's 5-4 loss to the Flames.

All three helpers came in the final six minutes of the third period as Rossi nearly single-handedly engineered a comeback from a 4-1 deficit. The 23-year-old center has delivered three or more points three times in the last 12 games, erupting for five goals and 14 points over that stretch, and his 43 points on the season (17 goals, 26 assists) in 49 appearances are already a new career high.

  • Flames' Yegor Sharangovich: Two helpers against Wild

Sharangovich notched two assists in Saturday's 5-4 win over Minnesota.

The 26-year-old winger helped set up a Martin Pospisil tally in the second period before springing Andrei Kuzmenko for the game-winner late in the third. Sharangovich is on a roll, racking up three goals and six points over the last six games with a plus-7 rating, but the six points equal his total from his prior 20 appearances combined.

  • Flames' Martin Pospisil: Ends goal drought Saturday

Pospisil scored an even-strength goal and added a power-play assist in Saturday's 5-4 win over the Wild.

Both points came in the second period, helping the Flames build a 4-1 lead that they nearly squandered in the final six minutes of regulation. It's Pospisil's first multi-point performance since the first two games of the season, and the goal snapped a 25-game drought during which he managed only six assists. While his 2:43 of power-play time is encouraging, the 25-year-old will need to put together a few more productive efforts before he'll be back on the fantasy radar in formats that don't reward hits. His physical play has been a constant presence even while Pospisil's offense waned, as his four hits Saturday raised his season total to 155 -- 12th in the NHL.

  • Nick Suzuki C | MON

Canadiens' Nick Suzuki: Three-point effort not enough

Suzuki recorded a goal and two assists in Saturday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Devils.

Suzuki got involved in each of the team's three goals Saturday, but his spectacular performance wasn't enough to lift the Canadiens to victory after Jack Hughes scored the game-winner for New Jersey in the final minute of overtime. Suzuki has been productive in recent weeks and has cracked the scoresheet in four of his last six appearances, and as the center of both the first line and the first power play unit, he should continue to find plenty of opportunities to keep producing. Suzuki is up to 50 points (15 goals, 35 assists) in 49 games this season.

  • Jack Hughes C | NJ

Devils' Jack Hughes: Scores game-winning OT goal

Hughes scored a goal in Saturday's 4-3 overtime win over the Canadiens.

Hughes scored the game-winning goal with 54 seconds left in overtime following a set-up from Timo Meier, giving Hughes 19 goals on the year. The 23-year-old playmaker has cracked the scoresheet in seven of his last 10 games and remains one of the most influential players on the New Jersey roster, tallying 11 points in that span (four goals, seven helpers) and 57 total points in 51 regular-season contests to date in 2024-25.

  • Flyers' Scott Laughton: Back with Flyers

Laughton (personal) returned to practice with Philadelphia on Sunday, Jordan Hall of NBC Sports Philadelphia reports.

Laughton will rejoin the Flyers ahead of Monday's matchup with the Devils after missing three games while attending to a family matter. The 30-year-old Laughton has nine goals and 23 points through 47 contests this season.

  • Oilers' Connor McDavid: Finishes serving suspension

McDavid is eligible to return to the lineup versus Seattle on Monday after serving his three-game suspension for cross-checking Vancouver's Conor Garland on Jan. 18.

McDavid has accounted for 20 goals, 65 points, 131 shots on net, 26 hits and 29 PIM through 43 appearances this season. With McDavid back in the fold, Ryan Nugent-Hopkins may shift back to the wing after occupying the second-line center role, while Kasperi Kapanen could be a healthy scratch versus the Kraken.

  • Gustav Nyquist RW | WPG

Predators' Gustav Nyquist: Goals in back-to-back games

Nyquist scored a goal on three shots and went plus-2 in Saturday's 5-2 loss to the Ducks.

Nyquist went 36 games without scoring on a goalie, but now he's done it in back-to-back contests. The winger tied the game at 1-1 in the first period and saw a season-high 22:24 of ice time since the Predators dressed 11 forwards and seven defensemen. Nyquist is up to 20 points, 61 shots on net and a minus-16 rating over 47 appearances.

  • Predators' Ryan O'Reilly: Pots goal in loss

O'Reilly scored a goal on three shots and went plus-2 in Saturday's 5-2 loss to the Ducks.

O'Reilly has five goals and one assist over 10 outings in January. The center tied the game at 2-2 in the second period, but the Ducks ran away with the win by scoring the next three goals. O'Reilly is up to 14 goals, 28 points, 85 shots on net, 44 blocked shots and a minus-13 rating over 45 appearances this season. He's been steady enough to maintain a second-line role lately.
