Red Wings' Michael Rasmussen: Hurt after scoring empty-netter
Rasmussen (undisclosed) was injured late in the third period of Saturday's 2-0 win over the Lightning, Daniella Bruce of the Red Wings' official site reports.
Rasmussen scored an empty-netter but was injured in a scrum after the tally. Bruce adds that Rasmussen was being evaluated after the contest and seems to be okay, but it'll be worth checking on his status prior to Monday's game versus the Kings. The goal ended a 16-game stretch in which the 25-year-old was limited to one assist.

Sidney Crosby C | PIT
Penguins' Sidney Crosby: Nets goal in road loss
Crosby scored a goal on three shots in Saturday's 4-1 loss to the Kraken.
Crosby's 14th goal of the season tied the game at one apiece before the Kraken scored three unanswered to hand the Penguins their third loss in four games. The 37-year-old star has been the team's bright spot during this stretch with four points. He is up to 52 points on the year, which ranks among the league's top-20 skaters. While he hasn't hit the 100-point mark since 2018, the 90-point threshold is a realistic achievement. If he reaches the 90-point mark, it would be the ninth time across his illustrious 20 years in the NHL.

Matty Beniers C | SEA
Kraken's Matty Beniers: Nets goal Saturday
Beniers scored in the third period in Saturday's 4-1 win over the Penguins.
The 22-year-old's tally in the third period was his 11th goal of the season and fourth point in his past five games. Beniers is up to 27 points, 86 shots on goal and 43 blocks in 49 appearances this season. The second overall selection from the 2021 draft still has room to grow and is slightly off the pace to surpass his career high of 57 points, which he set in 2022. However, his situation in Seattle is strong, playing alongside Jaden Schwartz and Kaapo Kakko on the team's first line. Beniers could become a streaming option if his recent quality of play continues.

Chandler Stephenson C | SEA
Kraken's Chandler Stephenson: Two assists Saturday
Stephenson posted two assists to help route the Penguins 4-1 on Saturday.
After exiting Seattle's previous game Thursday against the Capitals, the 30-year-old center came back strong, providing an assist on both the opening goal and game-winner. Stephenson has climbed to 25 assists and 33 points in 48 appearances this season. He is seeing the largest amount of ice time of his 10-year career with an average of 19:35 TOI. His combination of top-six minutes and power-play usage gives him a strong chance to hit the 50-point mark for the fourth year in a row.

Jared McCann C | SEA
Kraken's Jared McCann: Two apples in win
McCann registered two assists and added three shots on net in Saturday's 4-1 win over Pittsburgh.
Despite entering the contest as a game-time decision, McCann did not miss a beat, compiling his second multi-point performance in his last three games. The 28-year-old winger is up to 24 assists and 38 points in 50 appearances this season. McCann has been Seattle's most steady source of offense this season and is on pace to reach the 60-point mark for the third consecutive campaign. He should remain a focal point on Seattle's power play moving forward.

Nick Cousins C | OTT
Senators' Nick Cousins: Suffers lower-body injury
Cousins won't complete Saturday's game against Toronto because of a lower-body injury, per Bruce Garrioch of Postmedia.
Cousins entered the night with five goals, 13 points, 39 PIM and 80 hits in 46 appearances in 2024-25. Ottawa was already missing forwards Noah Gregor (lower body), Josh Norris (upper body) and Cole Reinhardt (upper body), so the Senators will likely need to summon a player from the minors if Cousins can't play Sunday versus Utah.

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins C | EDM
Oilers' Ryan Nugent-Hopkins: Seven points in last six games
Nugent-Hopkins scored twice Saturday in a 3-2 win over Buffalo.
He tied the game in the second period and scored the game-winner in the third frame. Nugent-Hopkins took a backdoor feed in the right faceoff circle and snapped the puck past James Reimer's glove. Nugent-Hopkins could struggle to reach the 50-point mark this season but has four goals and three assists in his last six games, including three multi-point efforts. He posted only three multi-point performances in his previous 42 appearances. RNH is better than what he's showing, so he could be a solid second-half boost to any fantasy manager's lineup if he can maintain some momentum.

Sean Monahan C | CLB
Blue Jackets' Sean Monahan: Suffers setback
Monahan (wrist) is expected to be out until mid-March after recently suffering a setback in his recovery, Aaron Portzline of The Athletic reports Saturday.
Columbus will be without their top center for upwards of two months. Monahan has already missed eight games, and Adam Fantilli has thrived on the first line in his stead, but the team's depth has been tested. Monahan had played at a point-per-game pace with 41 points over 41 contests prior to his injury.

Evgeni Malkin C | PIT
Penguins' Evgeni Malkin: Sustains lower-body injury
Malkin won't return to Saturday's game against Seattle because of a lower-body injury.
Malkin was injured in the first period when he collided with a player in the neutral zone. He left for the locker room and attempted to return before being ruled out for the remainder of the contest. Malkin entered Saturday's action with nine goals and 34 points in 46 appearances in 2024-25. If the 38-year-old Malkin can't play against San Jose on Monday, Cody Glass or Kevin Hayes could center the second line.

Morgan Geekie C | BOS
Bruins' Morgan Geekie: Pots two goals in win
Geekie netted two goals on two shots in a 3-1 victory over Colorado on Saturday.
Geekie scored both goals in the third period, tying the game in the first minute before getting the game-winner 5:44 into the final frame. He has amassed six goals and two assists in his last seven outings, including four tallies during his three-game point streak. Geekie has found the back of the net 15 times while adding 11 assists through 46 appearances this season.
