  • Predators' Jonathan Marchessault: Banks apple Saturday

Marchessault registered an assist and a team-high six shots on goal in Saturday's 4-1 loss to Washington.

Marchessault recorded the primary helper on Filip Forsberg's power-play marker in the second period. Marchessault extended his point streak to five games, and he's been held off the scoresheet only once over his last 14 games. It took some time for the 34-year-old to get adjusted to his new club, but he's been a consistent producer since the start of December after being limited to six points in each of the first two months of the campaign. The Quebec native is up to 14 goals and 17 assists through 42 games, four points back of Forsberg's team-leading total.

  • Jack Eichel C | LV

Golden Knights' Jack Eichel: Won't play Sunday

Eichel (illness) will not be available Sunday versus the Wild.

Eichel will miss his first game of the campaign Sunday. Nicolas Roy (upper body), who was activated from injured reserve Sunday, will replace Eichel in the lineup. William Karlsson and Tomas Hertl will center the Golden Knights' top two lines. Eichel's next chance to suit up will come Tuesday in Nashville.

  • Ethen Frank C | WAS

Capitals' Ethen Frank: Scores first NHL goal Saturday

Frank scored an even-strength goal on his only shot in Saturday's 4-1 win over the Predators.

It took just two games for Frank to pot his first career NHL goal, and he's registered a point in each of his first two contests with the Capitals. The 26-year-old is slotting in on the third line and has pushed Jakub Vrana out of the lineup as a result. Frank will look to extend his point streak to three games Tuesday against the Ducks.

  • Nicolas Roy C | COL

Golden Knights' Nicolas Roy: Lifted from IR

Roy (upper body) was activated from injured reserve Sunday, per the NHL media site.

Roy appears set to return from an 11-game absence in Sunday's matchup versus Minnesota. He has registered six goals, 13 points and 52 shots on net across 31 appearances this season. Roy could replace Cole Schwindt in Sunday's lineup.

  • Bruins' Marc McLaughlin: Waived by Boston

McLaughlin was waived by the Bruins on Sunday, James Mirtle of The Athletic reports.

McLaughlin was called up by Boston at the end of November, and he was in the lineup for eight of the Bruins' first nine games in December. However, he was frequently relegated to the press box in recent weeks, as he was a healthy scratch for eight of the team's last 11 matchups. If he clears waivers, the 25-year-old will likely head to AHL Providence.

  • Penguins' Evgeni Malkin: Moves to IR

Malkin (upper body) was placed on inured reserve Sunday.

Pittsburgh activated Philip Tomasino (lower body) from the IR list in a corresponding move. Malkin will miss his fourth straight game versus Tampa Bay on Sunday. He has produced eight goals, 32 points, 71 shots on net, 29 blocked shots and 20 hits across 41 appearances this season. Malkin has been participating in practices, but it's unclear when he will be ready to return to the lineup.

  • Penguins' Philip Tomasino: Activated Sunday

Tomasino (lower body) was activated from injured reserve Sunday.

Tomasino will rejoin the Penguins after missing the minimum-requisite four games. The 23-year-old Tomasino has four goals and seven points in 16 contests this year. Evgeni Malkin was placed on IR in a corresponding move.

  • Jets' Mark Scheifele: Pots goal in Saturday's win

Scheifele scored a goal on three shots in Saturday's 3-0 win over Avalanche.

Scheifele's point streak is up to five games (three goals, three assists). The center put the Jets ahead 2-0 with a second-period tally Saturday. He's on pace for the best season of his career and has already matched his goal total from last year (25) in 30 fewer games. Scheifele has 50 points, 99 shots on net, 36 hits, 36 blocked shots and a plus-4 rating over 44 appearances in 2024-25.

  • Blue Jackets' Luca Del Bel Belluz: Contributes helper in win

Del Bel Belluz notched an assist in Saturday's 2-1 win over the Blues.

Del Bel Belluz has a goal and two assists over his first two games this season. The 21-year-old looks to have a chance to stick around in the NHL while Sean Monahan (wrist) is sidelined for an unspecified length of time. Del Bel Belluz will likely play in a third-line role with power-play time in the immediate future. He's worth a look in deeper fantasy formats, though he'll be long gone in most dynasty leagues.

  • Jakub Demek C | LV

Golden Knights' Jakub Demek: Playing in ECHL

Demek (undisclosed) was activated from the injured non-roster list and assigned to ECHL Tahoe on Friday.

Demek earned an assist in Friday's 3-1 win over Rapid City. The 21-year-old forward had seven goals and 16 points in 55 AHL regular-season appearances with Henderson in 2023-24. He hasn't seen any NHL action yet and will probably spend the remainder of 2024-25 in the minors.
