Adam Fantilli C | CLB
Blue Jackets' Adam Fantilli: Two points in comeback win
Fantilli scored a power-play goal and added an even-strength assist in Tuesday's 4-3 shootout win over the Penguins.
With the Blue Jackets in a 3-1 hole midway through the third period, Fantilli sparked a comeback by setting up Dmitri Voronkov for one goal before scoring the tying tally himself with 2:36 remaining in regulation. Fantilli has a modest three-game point streak going, and if the upper-body injury Sean Monahan picked up Tuesday proves to be serious, the third-overall pick in the 2023 Draft could find himself thrust into a top-six role and a prominent spot on the power play.

Jiri Kulich C | BUF
Sabres' Jiri Kulich: Is week-to-week
Kulich (lower body) is week-to-week, head coach Lindy Ruff told Paul Hamilton of WGR Sports Radio 550 on Wednesday. The 20-year-old forward was put on injured reserve, per the NHL media site.
Kulich suffered the injury during Monday's 4-3 shootout win over Washington. He has seven goals, nine points and 64 shots over 31 appearances in 2024-25. Tyson Kozak, who was recalled from AHL Rochester on Wednesday, might serve in a bottom-six role during Kulich's absence.

Vincent Trocheck C | NYR
Rangers' Vincent Trocheck: Three-point effort Tuesday
Trocheck scored two goals, one on the power play, and added an assist in Tuesday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Stars.
After the Rangers had squandered an early 3-0 lead, Trocheck put his team back in front midway through the third period with his second goal of the night, but it wasn't enough. While some of New York's other stars have been struggling of late, Trocheck's production has remained steady, and over the last nine games, he's collected five goals and nine points while adding 24 shots on net, 20 hits, 15 blocked shots, nine PIM and a plus-1 rating to his ledger.

Sean Monahan C | CLB
Blue Jackets' Sean Monahan: Set to be evaluated Wednesday
Monahan (upper body) will be evaluated Wednesday, Jeff Svoboda of the Blue Jackets' official site reports.
Monahan exited Tuesday's game against the Penguins due to an upper-body injury, and it's not yet clear whether he'll be forced to miss additional time. A better idea of his status could come into focus once he's further evaluated by the team's medical staff, but he should tentatively be considered questionable for Thursday's home game against the Kraken.

Filip Chytil C | VAN
Rangers' Filip Chytil: Absent from practice Wednesday
Chytil (upper body) continues to be evaluated and will not practice Wednesday, Peter Baugh of The Athletic reports.
Chytil left Tuesday's clash with Dallas after logging just 9:01 of ice time in which he generated one shot and a minus-2 rating. Without the 25-year-old center on the ice Wednesday, Jonny Brodzinski shifted to center while Arthur Kaliyev moved up to a third-line role ahead of Thursday's matchup with New Jersey.

Elias Pettersson C | VAN
Canucks' Elias Pettersson: Game-time call Wednesday
Pettersson will be a game-time decision Wednesday versus Washington, per Dan Murphy of Sportsnet.
Pettersson has missed the Canucks' past five games. He has 10 goals and 28 points over 34 outings in 2024-25. If Pettersson plays Wednesday, he'll likely serve in a top-six capacity and on the first power-play unit. Pius Suter could shift out of the top six if Pettersson plays.

Dylan Larkin C | DET
Red Wings' Dylan Larkin: Another two-point effort Tuesday
Larkin produced a goal and an assist, both on the power play, in Tuesday's 3-2 overtime win over the Senators.
The Detroit captain opened the scoring midway through the first period before setting up Patrick Kane for the OT winner. Larkin has delivered three straight multi-point performances, extending his goal streak to four games and overall point streak to six games in the process. During that stretch, he's racked up five goals and nine points, including three goals and three helpers with the man advantage.

Anton Wahlberg C | BUF
Sabres' Anton Wahlberg: Returning from World Juniors
Wahlberg was reassigned to AHL Rochester on Wednesday following his appearance with Sweden at the 2025 IIHF World Junior Championship.
It was an impressive tournament for Wahlberg despite Sweden finishing third, as he racked up four goals and four assists in seven games. He's been less productive in the minors this year, managing just 10 points in 25 games, so he may have to wait a while before getting a chance to make his NHL debut.

Konsta Helenius C | BUF
Sabres' Konsta Helenius: Returning to AHL
Helenius will rejoin AHL Rochester after playing for Finland at the 2025 IIHF World Junior Championship.
Helenius played in all seven games for Finland, generating zero goals and six assists. Selected with the 14th overall pick in the 2024 NHL Draft, the 18-year-old center will look to build upon a strong first season in North America after racking up six goals and 11 helpers in 28 games for the Americans. If he continues to produce, Helenius could be in line for a call-up at some point this year.

Tyson Kozak C | BUF
Sabres' Tyson Kozak: Recalled by Buffalo
Kozak was recalled from AHL Rochester on Wednesday.
Kozak made three appearances for the Sabres in early December and recorded a goal, two hits and two blocked shots while averaging 9:55 of ice time. He'll rejoin the NHL club after Jiri Kulich suffered a lower-body injury and was placed on injured reserve Wednesday.
