  • Flames' Blake Coleman: Scores in overtime loss

Coleman scored a goal on two shots and added four hits in Thursday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Senators.

Coleman has two goals and two assists during his active four-game point streak. The 33-year-old forward opened the scoring at 12:14 of the first period. This recent run of offense is one of Coleman's best stretches of the campaign, a callback to his performance last year (54 points in 78 games). In 2024-25, the 33-year-old has seven tallies, eight assists, 73 shots on net, 63 hits, 30 blocked shots and a minus-3 rating over 33 appearances.

  • Flames' Jonathan Huberdeau: Matches last year's goal total

Huberdeau scored a power-play goal on five shots in Thursday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Senators.

Huberdeau has 12 goals, matching his total from last season. He's surged to the mark with six tallies over his last 12 contests, a span in which he also has six helpers. The winger is up to 23 points (seven on the power play), 58 shots on net, 22 hits, 27 blocked shots and a minus-11 rating through 33 appearances. Huberdeau's not doing as much playmaking as usual, putting him on pace to finish between 50-60 points for a third straight season.

  • Nick Cousins C | OTT

Senators' Nick Cousins: Tallies in Thursday's win

Cousins scored a goal, blocked two shots and added five PIM in Thursday's 3-2 overtime win over the Flames.

Cousins scored late in the first period and fought Brayden Pachal midway through the second. The tally snapped a five-game goal drought for Cousins, who has five points over nine outings in December. The 31-year-old forward is up to nine points, 45 shots on net, 48 hits, 23 PIM and a plus-3 rating through 30 appearances in a bottom-six role this season.

  • Ridly Greig C | OTT

Senators' Ridly Greig: Deposits shorthanded goal

Greig scored a shorthanded goal on six shots, added two hits and went plus-2 in Thursday's 3-2 overtime win over the Flames.

Greig ended his 19-game goal drought with his unassisted tally in the third period. He has earned a point in each of the last two contests after going nine games without one prior to this improved stretch. The 22-year-old has been playing on the fourth line lately, though his 16:00 of ice time Thursday was his most since Nov. 21. Greig has three goals, nine points, 40 shots, 49 hits, 16 PIM and a minus-6 rating through 29 appearances.

  • Penguins' Sidney Crosby: Snaps 10-game goal slump

Crosby scored a goal and added three assists in a 5-4 overtime win over the Predators on Thursday.

The goal snapped a 10-game drought. Crosby had 10 helpers in that span, though, and he has 35 points in 34 games this season. Sid's 8.7 shooting percentage is well below his career 14.4. It's the lowest shooting percentage of all top-25 scorers outside Quinn Hughes (6.9) and the lowest of all forwards in the top-50. All that to say, Crosby's sniping will climb soon.

  • Lightning's Anthony Cirelli: Career season continues

Cirelli (undisclosed) scored a goal Thursday in a 3-1 win over the Blues.

Cirelli opened the scoring early in the first period with a backhand from in tight as he cut to the net. He had missed practice Wednesday but looked none the worse for wear against the Blues. Cirelli's breakout campaign continues, as he has 28 points, including 13 goals, in 29 games, and his 51.3 face-off winning percentage is almost two percent improved from his career average. He's long been considered Selke Trophy material, and this could be the year he gets consideration.

  • Lightning's Gage Goncalves: First NHL goal

Goncalves scored a goal in Thursday's 3-1 win over St. Louis.

It was his first NHL goal. He took a pass from Nikita Kucherov, fumbled the puck into his feet and still managed to go glove shelf on Jordan Binnington. Goncalves has strong offensive instincts, but he hasn't been able to translate those skills into production from the Bolts' bottom six. He has one goal, one assist and 14 shots in 18 games. There's not much fantasy value in Goncalves' game at this point in his career.

  • Lightning's Brayden Point: Seven-game, 17-point streak

Point picked up an assist Thursday in a 3-1 win over the Blues.

Point's scoring streak stands at seven games and 17 points (five goals, 12 assists). He's the NHL's third-highest goal scorer, but he's really shown off his playmaking on this streak. Point had five assists in his first 18 games this season. It's not especially surprising, though -- his 35.6 shooting percentage is unsustainably high, and in fact, it's 16.6 percent above his career mark (19.0). Point remains on a career pace and is headed for his first triple-digit campaign.

  • Craig Smith C | DET

    Blackhawks' Craig Smith: Out Thursday

Smith (back) isn't available for Thursday's tilt against Seattle, per Charlie Roumeliotis of WGN Radio.

Smith is set to miss his fourth consecutive game. He has six goals, 10 points, 20 PIM, 18 hits and 15 blocks in 26 outings this season. Smith's next chance to return will come Saturday versus Calgary.

  • Lightning's Anthony Cirelli: Expected to play

Cirelli (undisclosed) is expected to play Thursday versus the Blues, Erik Erlendsson of LightningInsider.com reports.

Cirelli took line rushes in his usual spot on the second line, while Cam Atkinson did not participate in that part of warmups. As such, it looks like Cirelli will avoid missing time after missing practice Wednesday. He has 27 points over 28 games this season.
