Mason McTavish C | ANA
Ducks' Mason McTavish: Returns home
McTavish (upper body) traveled back to Anaheim but could still rejoin the team on the road after head coach Joel Quenneville told reporters Friday, "He's doing better, so I don't know if he's gonna return on this trip, but we're hopeful that he can make it back," Zach Cavanagh of The Sporting Tribune reports.
With a back-to-back set Sunday and Monday, it seems likely that McTavish will miss at least the next three games despite Quenneville leaving the door open. Considering his recovery timeline, the center could be a strong candidate for injured reserve if the Ducks need the roster spot.

Oskar Sundqvist C | STL
Blues' Oskar Sundqvist: Moved to IR
Sundqvist (ankle) was placed on injured reserve Friday, Matthew DeFranks of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports.
Even with a retroactive IR designation, Sundqvist will need to miss at least the next two games, though it could certainly be longer. At this point, given the reported severity of the cut above his ankle, Sundqvist may be shut down through the Olympic break, though the Blues haven't offered a specific timeline yet.

Filip Chytil C | VAN
Canucks' Filip Chytil: Ready to rock
Chytil (upper body) will return to the lineup Friday against New Jersey, per Randip Janda of Sporrtsnet.ca.
Chytil last played Oct. 19 against Washington, seeing only 5:02 of ice time before leaving the game with his upper-body injury. He missed the last 44 games. Chytil will center Brock Boeser and Drew O'Connor on the second line. Chytil has three goals in six games this season.

Stephen Halliday C | OTT
Senators' Stephen Halliday: Pots first career goal
Halliday scored a goal on three shots in Thursday's 5-3 loss to the Predators.
Halliday was recalled Thursday from AHL Belleville to fill in while David Perron (groin) is on the shelf. This is Halliday's third stint with the big club this season, and he could be with the team through the Olympic break. His goal Thursday was his first in the NHL to go with six assists, 21 shots on net, 23 hits and a minus-2 rating over 19 appearances as a rookie this season.

Jonathan Marchessault C | NSH
Predators' Jonathan Marchessault: Contributes goal in comeback win
Marchessault scored a goal on five shots and added four hits in Thursday's 5-3 win over the Senators.
This was Marchessault's first point in three games since he returned from a lower-body injury that cost him 14 contests. The 35-year-old has slotted onto the third line, so as not to disrupt a fairly strong top six. Marchessault is now at eight goals, 11 points, 67 shots on net, 45 hits and a minus-20 rating through 31 appearances this season, which is likely to be his worst since 2015-16, when he was just breaking into the NHL.

Tomas Hertl C | LV
Golden Knights' Tomas Hertl: Pots another power-play tally
Hertl scored a power-play goal on nine shots, added four PIM, logged three hits and blocked two shots in Thursday's 4-3 loss to the Bruins.
Hertl has been good lately with six goals and eight assists over his last nine games. He's earned seven power-play points in that span as well. The 32-year-old center is up to 44 points (19 on the power play), 135 shots on net, 60 hits, 31 PIM and 25 blocked shots over 49 appearances while primarily playing in a middle-six role.

Ross Colton C | COL
Avalanche's Ross Colton: Won't play Friday
Colton has been ruled out for Friday's game against Philadelphia due to a lower-body injury, Aarif Dean of Colorado Hockey Now reports.
Colton sustained a lower-body injury late in Wednesday's loss to Anaheim, and he's considered day-to-day. He'll be replaced by Joel Kiviranta (lower body) in Friday's lineup, while Colton's next chance to play will be Sunday in Toronto.

Jordan Staal C | CAR
Hurricanes' Jordan Staal: Pots goal in shootout loss
Staal scored a goal and added three hits in Thursday's 4-3 shootout loss to the Blackhawks.
Staal snapped a 16-game goal drought with the effort. In that span, he racked up six assists and 21 shots on net, and he's maintained a spot on the second power-play unit, though it hasn't led to increased production. The 37-year-old center has 11 goals, 21 points, 66 shots on net, 94 hits, 26 blocked shots, 25 PIM and a plus-3 rating through 48 appearances this season in his customary middle-six role.

Bo Horvat C | NYI
Islanders' Bo Horvat: Expected back Saturday
Horvat (lower body) is slated to play in Saturday's clash with Buffalo, Stefen Rosner of NHL.com reports.
Horvat looks poised to return to his first-line center role in addition to linking up with the No. 1 power-play unit. Injuries have derailed Horvat's season, as he has featured in just four of the Isles' last 18 contests. When healthy, the veteran has produced at a fantastic rate, generating 21 goals and 12 assists in 36 contests, including 12 power-play points.

Morgan Geekie C | BOS
Bruins' Morgan Geekie: Two helpers against Vegas
Geekie notched two power-play assists in Thursday's 4-3 win over the Golden Knights.
Both helpers came 30 seconds apart midway through the first period as the Bruins grabbed a 2-0 lead. It was Geekie's first multi-point performance since Dec. 20, and during the 13 games in between, the 27-year-old managed only one goal and four points -- his first real slump of the season.
