  • Noah Laba C | NYR

Rangers' Noah Laba: Ready to rock

Laba (upper body) will return to the lineup against Boston on Saturday, Vince Z. Mercogliano of The Athletic reports.

Following a three-game absence, Laba will occupy a third-line role versus the Bruins on Saturday. He has collected five goals, 12 points, 43 shots on net, 30 blocked shots and 53 hits across 42 appearances this season.

  • Senators' Stephen Halliday: Sent to Belleville

Halliday was assigned to AHL Belleville on Saturday.

Halliday has played 18 games with the Senators this season, picking up six assists. He had one goal and 18 helpers in 17 AHL games before his recall.

  • Noah Philp C | CAR

Hurricanes' Noah Philp: No timeline for return

Philp (concussion) doesn't have a timetable for his return to the lineup, Walt Ruff of the Hurricanes' official site reports Saturday.

Philp remains in concussion protocol and will miss his second straight game against Seattle on Saturday. He has appeared in two contests with the Hurricanes after being claimed off waivers from Edmonton on Dec. 29. In 17 outings between the Hurricanes and Oilers this season, he has two goals, one assist, 14 shots on net and 30 hits.

  • Wild's Tyler Pitlick: Remains on roster

Pitlick is still on the Wild roster despite passing through waivers Friday, Michael Russo of The Athletic reports.

Pitlick will not require waivers for 30 days, should the Wild decide to send him to the AHL. He has one goal with 58 hits in 23 games this season.

  • Ben Jones C | MIN

Wild's Ben Jones: Summoned from AHL

Jones was recalled from AHL Iowa on Saturday, according to Michael Russo of The Athletic.

Jones was called up because Joel Eriksson Ek suffered an undisclosed injury against the Kraken on Thursday. Jones has played 48 NHL regular-season games in his career, including 20 contests this campaign, and has yet to pick up a point. He had three goals and three assists in eight AHL appearances before his recall.

  • Predators' Jonathan Marchessault: Remains unavailable

Marchessault (lower body) won't play against Chicago on Saturday, per Brooks Bratten of the Predators' official site.

Despite being considered day-to-day, Marchessault will miss his 11th straight game, and it remains unclear when he will be ready to return. He has contributed seven goals, 10 points, 60 shots on net and 38 hits in 28 outings this season.

  • T.J. Tynan C | COL

Avalanche's T.J. Tynan: Summoned from AHL

Tynan was recalled from AHL Colorado on Saturday.

The Avalanche were down to 11 healthy forwards before Tynan was recalled. Tynan has spent the entire season at the AHL level, tallying one goal and 25 assists in 30 games. Tynan is expected to see fourth-line time Saturday against Columbus.

  • Rangers' Justin Dowling: Demoted to AHL

Dowling was reassigned to AHL Hartford on Saturday.

Dowling was a healthy scratch Thursday after failing to pick up a point in two January games, his first two this season in the NHL. Dowling had five goals and 11 assists in 24 AHL games before his recall.

  • Blues' Oskar Sundqvist: Strikes from long range in loss

Sundqvist scored a goal on five shots and added two hits in Friday's 4-2 loss to the Mammoth.

Sundqvist has three points over his last three outings, though he was scratched last Saturday despite coming off a two-point game. The 31-year-old's playing time is mostly secure on the fourth line since he can kill penalties, but a rough December has cost him some power-play time. Sundqvist is at 13 points, 29 shots on net, 42 hits, 18 blocked shots and a minus-12 rating through 35 appearances.

  • Mammoth's Nick Schmaltz: Pops off for three points

Schmaltz scored twice on five shots, added an assist and went plus-3 in Friday's 4-2 win over the Blues.

Schmaltz has racked up four goals and three assists over five outings in January. The 29-year-old forward's second goal Friday came on the power play, his first tally with the man advantage since Oct. 23, also against the Blues. For the season, he's up to 16 goals, 40 points (nine on the power play), 112 shots on net, 29 blocked shots and a plus-7 rating over 45 appearances in a top-six role.
