  • Capitals' Aliaksei Protas: Could return Friday

Protas (lower body) practiced in a regular jersey Thursday and could return to the lineup as early as Friday in Chicago, Sammi Silber of The Hockey News reports.

Protas has missed the last three games after getting hurt Jan. 1 versus Ottawa. Protas was hot prior to his injury, tallying four goals and adding five assists in a five-game scoring streak. Overall, the 25-year-old has 16 goals and 31 points over 41 appearances this season.

  • Matt Duchene C | DAL

Stars' Matt Duchene: Reaches 900 career points

Duchene picked up an assist in Wednesday's 4-1 win over the Capitals.

The 34-year-old helped set up Sam Steel for what proved to be the game-winner early in the second period, giving Duchene his 900th career point. He's had an injury-plagued start to his 17th NHL season, but he's looking healthy and productive to begin the new year, producing a goal and four points in the first four games of January.

  • Sam Steel C | DAL

Stars' Sam Steel: Two points including game-winner

Steel scored the game-winning goal and added an assist in Wednesday's 4-1 victory over the Capitals.

The 27-year-old center tapped home a slick feed from Thomas Harley early in the second period to give Dallas a 2-0 lead, before setting up a Wyatt Johnston tally midway through the third. It was Steel's first multi-point performance since Nov. 25, and he's picked up his scoring pace a little over the last few weeks, collecting three goals and six points over the last nine games.

  • Kings' Alex Turcotte: Picks up two points

Turcotte scored a goal on four shots, added an assist and went plus-2 in Wednesday's 4-3 overtime loss to the Sharks.

Turcotte is finding a groove in a third-line role, earning four points over his last three games. The 24-year-old also saw a season-high 17:22 of ice time Wednesday since the Kings were missing four of their regular forwards. Turcotte is now at three goals, seven helpers, 41 shots on net, 21 blocked shots, 17 hits and a minus-4 rating over 41 appearances this season.

  • Sharks' Adam Gaudette: Nets power-play goal in return

Gaudette scored a power-play goal on two shots and added four hits in Wednesday's 4-3 overtime win over the Kings.

Gaudette bounced right back after a three-game absence due to a lower-body injury. Between that injury and a healthy scratch, Gaudette has missed four of the Sharks' last eight contests, but he's gotten on the scoresheet in his four appearances in that span. The 29-year-old forward is up to nine goals, 15 points (five on the power play), 51 shots on net, 36 hits, 14 PIM and a minus-8 rating through 34 outings this season.

  • Sharks' Macklin Celebrini: Pulls off heroics Wednesday

Celebrini scored a goal on seven shots, added two assists and went plus-2 in Wednesday's 4-3 overtime win over the Kings.

The Sharks blew a couple of one-goal leads and fell behind with 2:10 left in the third period. Celebrini scored the tying goal with 1:07 left in regulation and then set up William Eklund for the winner at 3:08 of overtime. The 19-year-old Celebrini is riding a 12-game point streak (nine goals, 15 assists) after his latest remarkable performance. He's earned at least three points in 11 of his 43 outings this season, and he's up to 24 goals, 43 assists, 143 shots on net and a plus-17 rating.

  • Blues' Otto Stenberg: Pots first NHL goal

Stenberg scored a goal and added five hits in Wednesday's 7-3 loss to the Blackhawks.

This was Stenberg's first NHL goal, and it came in his 10th appearance. The 20-year-old forward has held down a middle-six role since he made his debut Dec. 17. He's done pretty well so far with six points, eight shots on net, 20 hits and a plus-5 rating. Stenberg has some scoring potential, but it's likely not going to show up in full force in 2025-26, so he can be left on the wire in standard redraft formats unless his scoring pace remains strong.

  • Colton Dach C | EDM

Blackhawks' Colton Dach: Records assist in win

Dach notched an assist and two hits in Wednesday's 7-3 win over the Blues.

Dach has two helpers over his last six outings. Prior to that stretch, he went 12 games without a point. The 23-year-old forward isn't in a great spot in the lineup, regularly playing on the fourth line. He has eight points, 45 shots on net, 45 PIM, 151 hits, 24 blocked shots and a minus-15 rating across 43 appearances. Despite his mediocre production in most areas, he has played in every game so far this season.

  • Blackhawks' Jason Dickinson: Tallies in win

Dickinson scored a goal on three shots, added four hits, blocked two shots and went plus-2 in Wednesday's 7-3 win over the Blues.

Dickinson was able to redirect a Louis Crevier shot at 17:24 for the Blackhawks' fifth goal. The 30-year-old Dickinson has earned three points and a plus-4 rating over his last seven contests. For the season, the center is up to five goals, nine points, 38 shots on net, 36 hits, 24 blocked shots and a minus-4 rating through 30 appearances. He continues to see steady middle-six usage as a shutdown center.

  • Oliver Moore C | CHI

Blackhawks' Oliver Moore: One of each on power play in win

Moore scored a goal and added an assist, both on the power play, in Wednesday's 7-3 win over the Blues.

Moore snapped his 16-game goal drought with a tally at 7:41 of the second period. He had also set up Nick Lardis' goal in the opening frame. Moore is up to four goals, 13 points (four on the power play), 38 shots on net, 17 hits, 10 blocked shots and a minus-7 rating through 31 appearances this season, mainly in a middle-six role.
