  • Predators' Jonathan Marchessault: Still out of lineup

Marchessault (lower body) will remain sidelined for Monday's road game against the Mammoth, according to Brooks Bratten of the Predators' official site.

Marchessault will miss his fifth straight game Monday. It's unclear if he's close to returning to the lineup, but his next opportunity to suit up will be in Vegas on Wednesday.

  • Sean Monahan C | CLB

Blue Jackets' Sean Monahan: Late scratch Monday

Monahan (undisclosed) is a late scratch for Monday's game in Ottawa due to maintenance.

According to Mark Scheig of The Hockey Writers, Monahan's absence is injury related. The veteran forward has been banged up throughout the season, and he'll now miss his first game in the second half of a back-to-back. The Blue Jackets' next game is at home Wednesday versus the Devils.

  • Sam Carrick C | BUF

Rangers' Sam Carrick: Set to play Monday

Carrick (illness) is expected to play Monday in Carolina, per Colin Stephenson of Newsday.

Carrick didn't end up missing a game due to the illness. He has a goal, six points, 28 PIM and 55 hits in 40 appearances in 2025-26. Carrick is projected to skate on the fourth line alongside Jonny Brodzinski and Matt Rempe.

  • Blue Jackets' Isac Lundestrom: Unavailable Monday

Lundestrom (lower body) won't play against Ottawa on Monday, according to Jeff Svoboda of the Blue Jackets' official site.

Lundestrom will miss his second straight game, and a timeline for his return remains unclear. He has collected one goal, four assists, 30 shots on net, 16 blocked shots and 13 hits across 35 appearances this season. Due to Lundestrom's absence, Brendan Gaunce has been centering the fourth line.

  • Blackhawks' Dominic Toninato: Sent to AHL

Toninato was assigned to AHL Rockford on Monday.

Toninato has one assist, six shots on goal and 10 hits in five NHL appearances this season. He also has five goals and 17 points over 24 AHL outings during the 2025-26 campaign.

  • Danton Heinen LW | CLB

Blue Jackets' Danton Heinen: Involved in trade

Columbus acquired Heinen, a 2026 second-round pick (St. Louis) and a 2027 third-round draft pick (Washington) from Pittsburgh on Monday in exchange for Yegor Chinakhov.

Heinen will report to AHL Cleveland after passing through waivers Monday. He has contributed one goal, two points, 14 shots on net, 10 blocked shots and 16 hits across 13 NHL appearances this season.

  • Lightning's Gage Goncalves: Produces pair of helpers

Goncalves notched two assists, three shots on goal, two blocked shots and a plus-2 rating in Sunday's 5-4 shootout win over the Canadiens.

Goncalves' offense has come around with four points over his last four games. He was a healthy scratch for four games in a row in the middle of December, but he's now seeing some top-six usage on paper, though his overall ice time is still in line with that of a bottom-six forward. He's at 11 points, 26 shots on net, 35 hits, 23 PIM, 17 blocked shots and a plus-7 rating across 34 appearances.

  • Nick Paul C | TB

Lightning's Nick Paul: Tallies in Sunday's shootout win

Paul scored a goal, added two PIM and went plus-2 in Sunday's 5-4 shootout win over the Canadiens.

Paul has been playing on the fourth line recently, though his versatility has seen him take some extra shifts outside of that role. The 30-year-old has earned five points over 13 outings in December. He's up to four goals, nine points, 30 shots on net, 31 hits and a minus-1 rating through 19 appearances.

  • Sean Monahan C | CLB

Blue Jackets' Sean Monahan: Earns pair of helpers

Monahan notched two assists and two shots on goal in Sunday's 4-2 win over the Islanders.

Monahan is mired in an 11-game goal drought. He has earned six assists in that span, but he's gotten on the scoresheet in just three of those contests. The 31-year-old center has gone nine games without exceeding 20 minutes of ice time, slipping into middle-six usage rather than the top-six role he started the year in. He's now at 19 points, 65 shots on net and a minus-3 rating over 37 appearances.

  • Blue Jackets' Cole Sillinger: Fills empty cage

Sillinger scored an empty-net goal on two shots in Sunday's 4-2 win over the Islanders.

Sillinger ended an eight-game goal drought with the empty-netter. He had two assists and a minus-6 rating in that span, a stretch that has seen him drop to the fourth line. His ice time bottomed out at 8:11 in Sunday's contest. Sillinger has four goals, 16 points, 69 shots on net, 40 hits and 16 PIM across 36 appearances this season.
