  • Noel Acciari C | PIT

Penguins' Noel Acciari: First goal of season

Acciari scored a goal Tuesday in a 4-3 shootout loss to Anaheim.

He got the Pens on the board in the first period when his face-off win came back to him after it went off a skate, and he wired a wrist shot past Ville Husso from the left circle. It was Acciari's first goal of the season. He has five points in 15 games, and he's never going to replicate his 20-goal campaign in Florida during the 2019-20 regular season. Acciari's limited fantasy value comes from his ability to hit -- he delivered 180 of those last season, but with his limited contributions in other categories, we can't recommend him.

  • Sabres' Tage Thompson: Racks up three more points

Thompson scored a goal on four shots and added two power-play assists in Tuesday's 4-3 overtime win over the Oilers.

Thompson earned his first multi-point effort since Nov. 21 versus the Blackhawks. The 28-year-old has four points, including three on the power play, over his last two games. For the season, he's up to 14 goals, 12 helpers, 108 shots on net, 35 hits and a minus-13 rating through 30 appearances. Thompson's steady top-line usage and spot on the first power-play unit will keep him productive a majority of the time.

  • Penguins' Sidney Crosby: Closing in on massive team record

Crosby picked up an assist Tuesday in a 4-3 shootout loss to the Ducks.

Croasby moved within five points of Mario Lemieux's team points record. The future Hall of Famer has 1,718 points (643 goals, 1,075 assists) in 1,380 games. Crosby has 18 goals, 13 assists and 64 shots in 28 games this season. Those goals are top five in the NHL right now; his point total puts him squarely in the top 30 overall.

  • Jets' Mark Scheifele: Nets pair of goals in loss

Scheifele scored two goals and blocked two shots in Tuesday's 4-3 loss to the Stars.

Scheifele scored twice in the second period to get the Jets within a goal, but the two teams traded tallies in the third. During an eight-game point streak, Scheifele has amassed five goals and five assists, but he's been one of the few Winnipeg skaters to be productive in that stretch. He's up to 16 goals, 38 points, 65 shots on net, 16 PIM and a plus-11 rating across 29 appearances this season.

  • Canadiens' Oliver Kapanen: Lone sniper in loss

Kapanen scored a goal Tuesday in a 6-1 loss to Tampa Bay.

Kapanen battled the puck into the net on a second-period power play after Nick Suzuki's shot from the left circle rattled off both posts and ended up on his stick. Kapanen has two goals in his last 10 games (two assists; 20 shots).

  • Stars' Wyatt Johnston: Two more helpers in win

Johnston logged two assists, including one on the power play, and added two PIM in Tuesday's 4-3 win over the Jets.

Johnston's in a five-game goal drought, but he has six helpers (two with the man advantage) in that span. He factored on the Stars' first two goals in this contest. For the season, the 22-year-old center is up to 36 points (20 on the power play), 84 shots on net, 10 PIM, 25 blocked shots and a minus-2 rating through 31 appearances as a top-six lock for the Stars. He's on track to take another step up on offense following his 71-point regular season in 2024-25.

  • Lightning's Jake Guentzel: Gets 600th NHL point in 630 games

Guentzel picked up an assist Tuesday in a 6-1 victory over the Canadiens.

It was his 600th NHL point; it came in his 630th game. Guentzel has 14 goals, 15 assists and 79 shots in 30 games this season, which puts him on pace for 38 goals, 80 points and 215 shots. That's almost identical to his 41-goal, 39-assist and 217-shot effort last year.

  • Ducks' Roger McQueen: One of each Tuesday

McQueen scored a goal and added an assist in Providence College's 4-2 win over Brown University on Tuesday.

McQueen had another good game for the Friars as he continues to put some distance between himself and his slow start to the year. The forward is up to five goals, eight assists and 29 PIM over 16 outings for Providence this season. The Ducks prospect should continue to shine on offense for the remainder of his freshman year.

  • Owen Beck C | MON

Canadiens' Owen Beck: Called up Tuesday

Beck was recalled from AHL Laval on Tuesday.

The Canadiens had no healthy extras on the roster Tuesday versus the Lightning. Beck was one of three players recalled prior to Montreal's two-game road trip, which features stops in Pittsburgh on Thursday and Manhattan on Saturday.

  • Lightning's Brayden Point: Two-point night in win

Point scored a goal and added an assist in a 6-1 win over the Canadiens on Tuesday.

Point's goal opened the game early in the first period, putting an end to the Lightning's goal drought at 130:43. The team had been shut out in its last two games. He drove around the Habs' defender inside the blue line and went in alone on Jakub Dobes, knifing it over the netminder's right shoulder from the right circle. The goal was Point's fourth of the season and first in 10 games (two assists). It came in his second game back from missing seven due to an undisclosed injury. His production (four goals and nine assists in 23 games) has been fantasy hockey's biggest disappointment this season. Point's pedigree -- he has averaged 46 goals and 89 points over each of the last three regular seasons -- means a rebound is coming.
