  • Liam Foudy C | NYI

Islanders' Liam Foudy: Tallies twice Saturday

Foudy scored two goals in AHL Bridgeport's 6-2 win over Hartford on Saturday.

Foudy missed about a month of action earlier in the season but has earned three points over four games since returning. In total, he has three goals and three assists over 10 appearances. The missed time could make it tough for him to match his breakout performance of 20 goals and 45 points in 70 regular-season contests a year ago. It's unclear if he'll be in contention for a call-up to the Islanders -- at 25 years old, he's aged out of prospect status and may just be a minor-league veteran.

  • Islanders' Casey Cizikas: Yet another empty netter

Cizikas scored an empty-net goal in Saturday's 2-0 victory over the Lightning.

It was Cizikas on the spot (again) -- he put in an empty-netter Thursday against Colorado, too. The 34-year-old center isn't known for his offense, but his 70 hits put him 36th overall in the NHL. That's solid, but it may not be enough for him to be a category specialist for you.

  • Islanders' Calum Ritchie: First career power-play snipe

Ritchie scored a power-play goal Saturday in a 2-0 win over Tampa Bay.

It was a slick little move that caught Jonas Johansson flat-footed. On a power play, an Islanders point shot caromed off the end boards to Ritchie, who put his stick between his legs and banked the puck off Johansson and into the net from the left post. Richie's goal was the game-winner. It's the rookie's first career power-play marker and third goal this season (19 games).

  • Lightning's Dominic James: Sustains undisclosed injury

James suffered an undisclosed injury during Saturday's 2-0 loss to the Islanders. There was no update on his status after the game, per Benjamin Pierce of the Lightning's official site.

James had one shot and one hit in 13:06 of ice time in the loss. He now has two goals and five points through 19 appearances this season. Curtis Douglas (undisclosed) was also injured Saturday, so Tampa Bay might need to promote a couple of forwards from the minors before Monday's game in Toronto.

  • Lightning's Curtis Douglas: Suffers injury Saturday

Douglas sustained an undisclosed injury Saturday versus the Islanders, and there was no update on his status after the game, Benjamin Pierce of the Lightning's official site reports.

Douglas was hurt on a hit along the boards in the third period and didn't return to the contest. The Lightning also lost Dominic James (undisclosed) in the game and were already playing without Brayden Point (undisclosed) and Nikita Kucherov (undisclosed). Tampa Bay's forward group could use reinforcements ahead of Monday's game in Toronto, which is the start of a four-game road trip.

  • Canucks' Elias Pettersson: Sitting out Saturday

Pettersson (upper body) won't play Saturday versus the Wild, Dan Murphy of Sportsnet reports.

Pettersson left warmups before line rushes started. The 27-year-old's absence will have a ripple effect throughout the Canucks' lineup, allowing Jonathan Lekkerimaki to stay in after he was previously in line to be scratched. Pettersson's status should be updated during or after Saturday's contest.

  • Jakub Stancl C | STL

Blues' Jakub Stancl: Hat trick in overtime loss

Stancl scored three goals in AHL Springfield's 4-3 overtime loss to Providence on Saturday.

Stancl now has four goals over 10 games for the Thunderbirds this season. The 20-year-old has struggled in his time for Springfield this season, but given his age, he has plenty of time to develop his play. The Czech winger could develop into a decent bottom-six option in a few years.

  • Martin Necas C | COL

Avalanche's Martin Necas: Three apples keeps Rangers away

Necas picked up three assists in a 3-2 overtime win over the Rangers on Saturday.

Necas has five points, including four assists, in his last two games, and he has eight points (one goal, seven assists) in his past four contests. Necas is on pace for a mind-numbing 111 points, a pace that would best his previous career high by close to 30 points. Maintaining that level will be challenging, but Colorado has been a superb fit for the 26-year-old winger.

  • Filip Chytil C | VAN

Canucks' Filip Chytil: Continues skating, no timeline

Chytil (upper body) has skated four consecutive days, but he remains without a timeline to return, Jeff Paterson of CanucksArmy.com reports Saturday.

Chytil has been skating for a while, and he's had no setbacks, but the Canucks are being cautious with his recovery. At this time, it's unclear if he'll be back before the end of December, but he appears to be making slow and steady progress.

  • Avalanche's Nathan MacKinnon: Nets two goals in victory

MacKinnon scored twice in a 3-2 overtime win over the Rangers on Saturday.

MacKinnon's second goal of the game was the winner in overtime -- he went wide to the boards and cut aggressively back through the Rangers' defense before deking to his backhand and roofing it past Igor Shesterkin. It was MacKinnon's league-leading 24th goal. He has 10 goals and 15 points in his last nine games, and he leads the NHL with 48 points through 28 contests.
