  • Ross Colton C | COL

Avalanche's Ross Colton: Buries goal Tuesday

Colton scored a goal on three shots in Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Lightning.

Colton's tally was his first since Oct. 9 versus the Mammoth. The 29-year-old remains a decent depth scorer with a physical edge in the Avalanche's middle six. Colton has six points, 26 shots on net, 35 hits, five PIM and a minus-1 rating over 14 outings this season.

  • Avalanche's Tristen Nielsen: Sent down after debut

Nielsen was reassigned to AHL Colorado following Tuesday's 3-2 win over the Lightning.

Nielsen made his NHL debut Tuesday, logging four hits in 5:25 of ice time. Gavin Brindley is dealing with a concussion, but the Avalanche are off until Saturday's game in Edmonton. That could give Brindley enough time to heal, and if not, Nielsen will be able to get into the requisite one game with the minor-league team before a potential recall would be necessary.

  • Nick Suzuki C | MON

Canadiens' Nick Suzuki: Season-opening streak at 12 games

Suzuki scored a power-play goal Tuesday in a 5-4 shootout loss to the Flyers.

Suzuki extended the longest point streak in the NHL this season to 12 games and 19 points (three goals, 16 assists). He has the Habs' longest point streak since Pierre Turgeon, who tallied in 13 straight games in April of 1995. Suzuki sits in a four-way tie for third in NHL scoring with Nathan MacKinnon, Evgeni Malkin and Jack Eichel. Suzuki's every part a star.

  • Kirby Dach C | MON

Canadiens' Kirby Dach: Two quick goals not quite enough

Dach scored two goals in Tuesday's 5-4 shootout loss to Philadelphia.

Dach cut the score to 3-1 early in the second period to queue Montreal's comeback. He fired a rebound off the end boards from deep in the right circle that beat Dan Vladar. Then 1:03 later, Dach snapped a one-timer into the left side of a gaping net from the bottom of the left circle on a cross-ice pass from Ivan Demidov. Dach snapped a five-game goal drought. He has three goals, two assists and 15 shots in 10 contests this season.

  • Flyers' Trevor Zegras: Excellence continues

Zegras picked up two assists and scored the winner in the shootout of Tuesday's 5-4 win over Montreal.

Zegras' resurrection continues -- he has 15 points (four goals, 11 assists) in 13 games, and he continues to lead Philly in scoring, five points ahead of Travis Konecny. Zegras has been remarkably consistent under coach Rick Tocchet -- he has a point in 10 of 13 games, and eight of his 15 points have come with the man advantage. It feels like Philly is a fit for the young star.

  • Pavel Zacha C | BOS

Bruins' Pavel Zacha: Four-game, four-point streak

Zacha scored a power-play goal in a 4-3 shootout win over the Islanders on Tuesday.

Late in the second frame, Zacha buried a rebound into an open net after Ilya Sorokin stretched to get his left pad on Charlie McAvoy's initial shot. It was Zacha's third goal this season, and it stretched his point streak to four games and four points (one goal, three assists). He has three goals, 10 assists and 22 shots in 15 games. If the 28-year-old can maintain this pace, Zacha will deliver his first-ever 70-point season in the NHL.

  • Bruins' Marat Khusnutdinov: Two goals in three games

Khusnutdinov scored a goal in regulation and the winner in the shootout in a 4-3 victory over the Islanders on Tuesday.

Late in the third, Khusnutdinov came off the wall, picked up a rebound and backhanded the game-tying goal past Ilya Sorokin as he was falling. Khusnutdinov has two goals in three games while skating with elite wingman, David Pastrnak. The top-line gig will disappear when Elias Lindholm (lower body) returns, but right now he's week-to-week. Khusnutdinov is a smart pickup right now.

  • Bo Horvat C | NYI

Islanders' Bo Horvat: Now top-10 NHL goal scorer

Horvat scored two goals in a 4-3 shootout loss to Boston on Tuesday.

Horvat's nine goals this season put him on the NHL's top-10 snipers list. Yes, the top 10. Horvat has three 30-plus goal seasons, including a career-high 38 in 2022-23. His career mark in points (70) also came that regular season. Horvat has 15 points and 45 shots in 13 games this season -- that puts him on a career pace for goals (57), assists (95) and shots (283). Can he sustain it? Probably not, but he could still break his career mark, and there's plenty of value in that.

  • Golden Knights' Colton Sissons: Ready to rock

Sissons (undisclosed) will be in the lineup Tuesday versus the Red Wings, Danny Webster of the Las Vegas Review-Journal reports.

Sissons will return to a fourth-line role after a two-game absence. He has one assist through nine appearances this season while averaging 11:06 of ice time.

  • Radek Faksa C | DAL

    Stars' Radek Faksa: Unavailable Tuesday

Faksa (undisclosed) won't play against Edmonton on Tuesday, according to Stars reporter Robert Tiffin.

Faksa will miss at least one game, forcing the Stars to dress 11 forwards and seven defensemen in Tuesday's contest. He has earned one goal, three assists, five shots on net, nine blocked shots and 22 hits across 12 appearances this season. Due to Faksa's absence, Kyle Capobianco will play against the Oilers.
