Logan Cooley C | UTA
Mammoth's Logan Cooley: Hat trick in first period
Cooley scored three goals, added an assist and fired four shots on target in Thursday's 7-4 win over St. Louis.
Cooley's first big performance of 2025-26 arrived in the form of a four-point first period, including a hat trick in which all three goals were tallied in the span of less than five minutes. It was one of the best individual performances to start a game in recent memory, and it brings the 21-year-old's season totals to five goals, two assists and 17 shots on net in eight games. His connection with Dylan Guenther and JJ Peterka on the second line was evident, and that unit will look to take a big step forward in 2025-26 to help the Mammoth make the postseason for the first time since their move to Salt Lake City. Cooley is on pace to build upon his 65-point output from a year ago and could be in store for a point total north of 70 for the first time in his three-year NHL career.

Jean-Gabriel Pageau C | NYI
Islanders' Jean-Gabriel Pageau: Gets goal in big win
Pageau scored a goal on two shots, added two hits, blocked two shots and went plus-3 in Thursday's 7-2 win over the Red Wings.
Pageau has two goals and two assists this season, all coming within the last five games. The third-line center has added eight shots on net, 15 hits, five blocked shots and a plus-1 rating over seven total appearances. Pageau has seen a role reduction compared to last year, as his average ice time is down 2:15 per game, with much of that loss coming from a lack of power-play usage. He can still chip in depth scoring, but the lack of premium minutes in advantageous situations will limit his output in the long run.

Connor Dewar C | PIT
Penguins' Connor Dewar: Scores again Thursday
Dewar scored a goal on two shots and added two hits in Thursday's 5-3 win over the Panthers.
Dewar has scored in three of the last four games. The 26-year-old is doing an excellent job of securing his place in the lineup over Philip Tomasino. Dewar has four points, 13 shots on net, 17 hits, five blocked shots and a plus-2 rating through eight appearances. He won't have widespread fantasy appeal, but his recent uptick in offense makes him worth a look in deep formats.

Benjamin Kindel C | PIT
Penguins' Benjamin Kindel: Tallies in Thursday's win
Kindel scored a goal on two shots in Thursday's 5-3 win over the Panthers.
Kindel stretched the Penguins' lead to 3-1 in the second period. The 18-year-old center is up to two goals, 13 shots on net, seven blocked shots, three hits, four PIM and a plus-1 rating over his seven appearances this season. It doesn't look like he'll be heading back to junior hockey, but the Penguins plan to manage Kindel's workload, so expect occasional healthy scratches in the early going. When he's in the lineup, he fills a third-line role and sees time on the second power-play unit.

Martin Necas C | COL
Avalanche's Martin Necas: Puts away goal in shootout loss
Necas scored a goal on three shots, added two PIM and logged two hits in Thursday's 5-4 shootout loss to the Hurricanes.
Necas has scored in three straight games and extended his point streak to eight contests with his third-period tally Thursday. The winger is now at six goals, six helpers, 19 shots on net, eight hits and a plus-8 rating to start the season. The Czech winger continues to be reliable in a top-line role, and it's tough to see the Avalanche shuffling him into a different spot any time soon.

Logan Stankoven C | CAR
Hurricanes' Logan Stankoven: Finds twine Thursday
Stankoven scored a goal and added two PIM in Thursday's 5-4 shootout win over the Avalanche.
Stankoven ended a three-game slump with the first-period tally, which was the Hurricanes' last in regulation. The 22-year-old was allowed to play through that dry spell on the second line, which bodes well for him sticking in the top six for most or all of the season. He has four points, 15 shots on net and a plus-2 rating through seven appearances while averaging 16:13 of ice time.

Seth Jarvis C | CAR
Hurricanes' Seth Jarvis: Buries shorthanded goal
Jarvis scored a shorthanded goal on five shots and added an assist in Thursday's 5-4 shootout win over the Avalanche.
Jarvis earned both of his points during an explosive first period for the Hurricanes' offense. The 23-year-old has netted at least one goal in five of seven games to begin the season, totaling seven goals and four helpers. He's also produced 29 shots on net, four blocked shots and a plus-3 rating. Jarvis will continue to play in all situations as one of the most important members of Carolina's lineup. He looks ready to take the step up from being a great forward to an elite one.

Wyatt Johnston C | DAL
Stars' Wyatt Johnston: Pair of points Thursday
Johnston scored a goal on four shots and added an assist in Thursday's 3-2 overtime loss to the Kings.
Both of Johnston's points came on the power play. He's cooled down a bit since scoring in four straight games to start the season, but he still has five goals and three helpers through seven contests. The 22-year-old center has added 21 shots on net, seven blocked shots, three hits and a plus-1 rating. He'll continue to play a prominent role throughout the year, and he's been even more important while Matt Duchene battles a nagging upper-body injury.

Quinton Byfield C | LA
Kings' Quinton Byfield: Records two assists in win
Byfield posted two assists, including one on the power play, and two hits in Thursday's 3-2 overtime win over the Stars.
Byfield won a puck battle and fed Adrian Kempe for the game-winning goal 37 seconds into overtime. This was Byfield's third multi-point effort over eight contests this season. The 23-year-old is providing steady offense in a top-six role, contributing two goals, six helpers, 20 shots on net and a minus-2 rating. He looks ready to take the next step after point totals of 55 and 54 in the previous two regular seasons.

Bo Horvat C | NYI
Islanders' Bo Horvat: Four-game, seven-point streak
Horvat put up two assists in a 7-2 win over Detroit on Thursday.
Horvat stretched his point streak to four games and seven points (five goals, two assists). He leads the Isles with nine points (five goals, four assists; 26 shots) in seven games.
