  • Mammoth's Nick Schmaltz: Puts away power-play goal

Schmaltz scored a power-play goal on four shots and blocked four shots in Tuesday's 4-3 overtime win over the Avalanche.

Schmaltz is humming on offense now with four goals and eight assists during a four-game point streak. The 29-year-old got the Mammoth on the board with his second-period tally. He's at 10 points (four on the power play) with 27 shots, six blocks and a plus-2 rating through seven contests this season. As long as he's playing alongside Clayton Keller on the top line, Schmaltz is a virtual lock for strong scoring production.

  • Dylan Cozens C | OTT

Senators' Dylan Cozens: Season scoring streak at five games

Cozen scored a goal in a 3-2 overtime loss to Edmonton on Tuesday.

Cozens beat Stuart Skinner blocker side with a wrist shot on the power play early in the third; the goal cut the lead to 2-1. Cozens has quietly put together a five-game, five-point scoring streak to start the season. It includes a three-game goal streak. Cozens delivered 16 points (five goals, 11 assists) in 21 regular-season games last year after arriving in Canada's capital in a trade. The move seemed to inject life into his game, and this season, he could come close to replicating his career mark of 68 points, including 31 goals, from the 2022-23 regular season.

  • Tyson Jost C | NSH

Predators' Tyson Jost: Buries goal in loss

Jost scored a goal on two shots in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the Ducks.

Jost saw 14:17 of ice time in this contest, the third game in a row he's been over 13 minutes. He's still officially in a bottom-six role, but he's gotten a larger share of minutes while Jonathan Marchessault (lower body) is on the shelf. Jost's goal was his first point to go with 14 shots on net, seven hits, three blocked shots and a minus-3 rating over seven appearances. While he may play regularly for the Predators, his ceiling on offense is likely around 25 points, so he's not a good option for most fantasy formats.

  • Jack McBain C | UTA

Mammoth's Jack McBain: Questionable to finish game

McBain (upper body) is being evaluated after leaving Tuesday's game versus the Avalanche and is questionable to return.

McBain appeared to hit his head against the boards prior to his exit. The Mammoth did not reveal in their in-game announcement if he is being checked for a concussion, but it's certainly a possibility. His status for the Mammoth's upcoming road trip, which begins Thursday in St. Louis, will likely be decided in the coming days.

  • Ducks' Ryan Poehling: Nabs helper in win

Poehling logged an assist and went plus-2 in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Predators.

This was Poehling's first point over six games to begin his tenure with the Ducks. The 26-year-old has slotted in as a defensive center on the fourth line, and his 12:00 of ice time Tuesday was a season high. Poehling has supplied two shots on net, two blocked shots, one hit, two PIM and an even plus-minus rating so far. Without a bump in minutes, he's unlikely to come close to the pace that saw him generate 31 points over 68 appearances with the Flyers in 2024-25.

  • Leo Carlsson C | ANA

Ducks' Leo Carlsson: Finds twine in win

Carlsson scored a goal on three shots and went plus-2 in Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Predators.

Carlsson restored the Ducks' lead at 2-1 in the second period. He's scored in every other game this season, recording three goals and four assists through six contests. The 20-year-old has added 17 shots on net, four blocked shots and an even plus-minus rating while seeing ice time in all situations. Carlsson is poised for a breakout as a leading contributor on the top line following last year's 20-goal, 45-point effort.

  • Oilers' Connor McDavid: Gets first goal of season

McDavid scored a goal Tuesday in a 3-2 OT win over Ottawa.

It was his first goal in seven games this season. McDavid opened the scoring at the 16:31 mark of the first when he one-timed a centering pass from Ryan Nugent-Hopkins on the power play. Yes, the superstar has gotten off to a relatively quiet start, but McDavid still has eight points, including seven assists, and 22 shots in seven games this season.

  • Stars' Colin Blackwell: Records helper in loss

Blackwell notched an assist, three hits and two PIM in Tuesday's 5-1 loss to the Blue Jackets.

Blackwell earned his first assist and point of the year on a Tyler Seguin tally in the second period. The 32-year-old Blackwell has slotted into a bottom-six role this season, but injuries to Matt Duchene (upper body), Jamie Benn (upper body) and Oskar Back (undisclosed) have likely led to him getting more games than initially expected this early. When the Stars get healthy, Blackwell will probably be a rotational option on the fourth line, though his penalty-killing ability should help him stay in the lineup. He's added two shots on net, 10 hits, two blocked shots and a minus-3 rating over six appearances.

  • Tyler Seguin C | DAL

Stars' Tyler Seguin: Tallies lone goal in loss

Seguin scored a goal on two shots in Tuesday's 5-1 loss to the Blue Jackets.

Seguin has remained pretty consistent to start 2025-26, earning two goals and two assists over six games. His tally in the second period was all the Stars could put on the board Tuesday. He's added 10 shots on net, four hits and a plus-1 rating while generally filling a middle-six role as the Stars continue to juggle line combinations in the absences of Matt Duchene (upper body), Jamie Benn (upper body) and Oskar Back (undisclosed).

  • Sean Monahan C | CLB

Blue Jackets' Sean Monahan: Notches power-play assist

Monahan recorded a power-play assist and two hits in Tuesday's 5-1 win over the Stars.

Monahan's had no luck on offense so far this season, with his helper on a Dmitri Voronkov goal being his first point. The 31-year-old Monahan has added 13 shots on net, six hits and a plus-5 rating through six contests. Both of his linemates, Voronkov and Kirill Marchenko, have had success, so it's only a matter of time before Monahan gets on track, as long as he remains on the top line and first power-play unit.
