Adam Henrique C | EDM
Oilers' Adam Henrique: Fills empty cage
Henrique scored an empty-net goal in Tuesday's 2-0 win over the Rangers.
The Oilers took the lead halfway through the game, and Henrique's empty-netter gave them breathing room with 1:08 left in the third period. The 35-year-old has started 2025-26 in a fourth-line role, but he's a defensive center who gets plenty of extra shifts to help protect leads. He's added four hits, five blocked shots and a plus-1 rating over three contests. Henrique had a fine 2024-25 regular season with 27 points in 81 outings, and he should approach a similar level this year.

Frederick Gaudreau C | SEA
Kraken's Frederick Gaudreau: Records assist in overtime loss
Gaudreau notched an assist and two blocked shots in Tuesday's 5-4 overtime loss to the Canadiens.
The helper was Gaudreau's first point in three games with the Kraken. The 32-year-old center, acquired via trade from the Wild in June, has occupied a fourth-line role on paper while averaging 14:29 of ice time so far. He has reached the 30-point mark in three of the last four seasons and could ultimately function in a similar shutdown role, like how the Kraken deployed Yanni Gourde in previous years.

Matt Duchene C | DAL
Stars' Matt Duchene: Considered day-to-day
Head coach Glen Gulutzan said Wednesday that Duchene (upper body) is considered day-to-day, Brien Rea of FanDuel Sports Network Southwest reports.
Duchene sustained his upper-body injury during Tuesday's game against the Wild. It's unclear if he will be available for Thursday's game against the Canucks, but the team wants to wait and see how he feels before determining his status. If Duchene misses time, Adam Erne is a candidate to enter the lineup.

Alex Newhook C | MON
Canadiens' Alex Newhook: Buries goal Tuesday
Newhook scored a goal and added two hits in Tuesday's 5-4 overtime win over the Kraken.
Newhook opened the scoring at 4:37 of the first period. The 24-year-old forward has two points, three shots on net, seven hits and a plus-2 rating across four contests to begin the season. Newhook has filled a middle-six role, working on the wing early in the year as Kirby Dach is healthy and handling Newhook's old spot as the second-line center. It'll be tough for Newhook to score his way into the fantasy conversation from the third line.

Kirby Dach C | MON
Canadiens' Kirby Dach: Nets first goal of season
Dach scored a goal on two shots and added two hits in Tuesday's 5-4 overtime win over the Kraken.
Dach has centered the second line early in the campaign, earning two points over four contests. He's added four shots on net, five hits, four blocked shots and a plus-1 rating. Dach's in a good position, especially with a spot on the power play, but he'll need to stay healthy to cash in on all of that potential. He's played in at least 70 games just once in his first six NHL seasons.

Blake Coleman C | CGY
Flames' Blake Coleman: Finds back of net Tuesday
Coleman scored a goal in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to the Golden Knights.
Coleman doubled the Flames' lead at the 12:10 mark of the first period. The 33-year-old veteran has two goals through four outings. He has been getting it done on both ends of the ice while adding 11 shots, 13 hits and five blocked shots to open the year.

Mikael Backlund C | CGY
Flames' Mikael Backlund: Scores in loss to Vegas
Backlund scored a goal in Tuesday's 4-2 loss to the Golden Knights.
Backlund opened the scoring for the Flames with a snap shot at the 7:32 mark of the first period. He has one goal on five shots through four appearances this season. Backlund hasn't hit the 40-point mark in three of his last four campaigns.

Vincent Trocheck C | NYR
Rangers' Vincent Trocheck: On long-term injured reserve
Trocheck (upper body) was put on long-term injured reserve Wednesday, per Vince Z. Mercogliano of The Athletic.
Trocheck has been week-to-week since getting hurt in Thursday's game against Buffalo, and his placement on LTIR rules him out until at least Nov. 4 against Carolina. However, it's unclear when he will be ready to return to the lineup. Trocheck was playing primarily alongside Artemi Panarin and Alexis Lafreniere before the injury. With Trocheck on the shelf, Mika Zibanejad has been serving on that line.

Tomas Hertl C | LV
Golden Knights' Tomas Hertl: Scores empty-netter
Hertl scored an empty-net goal with seven seconds left in the game during Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Flames. He also added an assist.
Hertl set up Kaedan Korczak's goal in the third period and later closed out the scoring with an empty-netter in the final seconds of the contest. The 31-year-old Hertl earned his first goal and multi-point performance of the campaign. He also has four PIM, four shots on goal and seven hits through four appearances.

Jack Eichel C | LV
Golden Knights' Jack Eichel: Two goals in win Tuesday
Eichel recorded two goals on seven shots in Tuesday's 4-2 win over the Flames.
Eichel recorded a season-high mark in shots and found the back of the net for the third and fourth time this season. His first goal of the night was a backhander at the 10:00 mark of the second period, and he added the game-winning goal with a wrister at the 6:38 mark of the final frame. Eichel is enjoying a blistering start to the season, earning four goals and five assists over a four-game point streak.
